May. 8th, 2006 12:20 pmYesterday was a very random sort of day. I spent the morning curled up in my pajamas with Katie and Kim, watching Doctor Who download (NOT THAT I DO SUCH A THING. I SPEAK OF METAPHORICAL DOWNLOADING) and then watching the episodes. I liked it muchly. *nods*
Anyway, I then proceeded to get dressed and sort of spend the day recovering from a hangover and arsing around a bit. Went to Morrisons for chicken OF GODLINESS, and spent a lot of time flailing at Kim, and being faintly grandmotherly to Katie re: Mohawk. No one does it as well as Kim (you need to hear the Highland brogue to be a true grandmother, and I think my faint Scouse that comes out when I'm being caring doesn't quite cut it) but still, they are Sweet. Remember this for later, it is an important detail.
Yesterday was also Sarah's birthday, as I mentioned, and this time we actually made it to the beach, and chilled out (literally, it was freezing!) with a fire and a barbeque, and tried to see what we could skewer and make taste good. Pringles were the success of this, I think.
I came back smelling of smoke and blinking a lot, but it was generally a very pleasent evening. Due, however, to the fact that I was fallover DED tired sort of thing, at about 11.30 I was all prepped and ready to go to bed, that sort of thing, and then there was banging at my door.
"COLLEEN! ARE YOU AWAKE? BE AWAKE NOW!"
Katie barges through my door, Mohawk in hand, and promptly squees at me "OH MY GOD I'M GETTING MARRIED!"
I blinked, and then flung myself at them both in a massive hug and with not a small shout of "CONGRATULATIONS Copycat!"
All thoughts of going to bed abandoned, off I trundled downstairs with them, where I drank a glass of wine and squeed a lot for them. Oh, bless. *pets them*
Now it is morning, and Katie still has a look of squee about her. It is sweet and I suspect I was like that a lot too. I have given the requisite advice ("make sure you tell them you're waiting until after graduation, and that you're not pregnant, and have some brandy on hand") and generally I am very chuffed for the both of them. Mohawk is a NICE BOY so I approve. *nods*
Anyway. Work, now. Well, breakfast first.
