I think I'm mostly prepared for ME1002 tomorrow, in that I've checked with three different people when the damned exam actually is, know, um, well, two of the main texts but I know both the Gesta Francorum and The Life of St Louis backwards and forwards, or at least well enough for a first year exam. More imporantly, I've looked over all of the past papers and haven't completely died inside with fear. I know everything pretty well, excluding Byzantium. The place was just so dull, though, with names I can't pronounce and can't spellm, and dusty old traditions, and it just doesn't seem to have the vim and vigour I like. It's just too far removed, in the way that Ancient History bores me silly.

RU1012 was a complete joke. Got half way through a question about the Russian Revolution without mentioning Lenin, and forgot that Nicholas II abdicated before the actual Revolution. Ah well. I did spend a lot of time talking about enlightened absolutism and the entrenchment of serfdom under Catherine the Great, which I'm sure might get me some points out of fear.

You know. Maybe.

Anyway. I am UTTERLY SKINT, but I have a Plan for this week. Tomorrow afternoon, we go for a late pub lunch after Derya's exam. Wednesday, I go for work in the morning, sleep a bit, wake up, go to Dundee, purchase a feather boa, and then get absolutely hammered and nance off to the Rocky Horror Bop. There will be full costume and it will be most fab! Thursday I walk to work, come home, be sick, pass out, and then handle a six hours RockSoc in the evening. On Friday, I pack frantically and go out of a civilised meal with Dad, and on Saturday I go home. I am the planning queen! Or something like that.

... not sure how I'm going to afford this, but I think tomorrow afternoon involves phoning up the Ormskirk job centre. Good fun.

Local government, civil service etc are always in need to temps for the summer. If you're going home this weekend I'd suggest you get in quick before the English unis finish. If you get desperate, phone your local county court! Seriously, the work isn't that hard and it pays so much better than anything else.

I'm sure you're exams went better than you thought, it's always easy to focus on the negatives afterwards. Good luck for tomorrow, you're so lucky that you're almost finished!

Take care xxx

The work experience is a really good thing, I think that's how half the places get their summer temps. Good luck and congrats on surviving your first year :)
