Jul. 16th, 2006 06:16 pmFor assorted reasons, I joined MySpace last night. I feel a bit dirty and sick inside, but apparently it is the only way to keep up with friends from high school and college.
Please don't disown me.
In less sheepish news, I went to training today and continue in my confusion of knowing ABSOLUTELY NO ONE. Claire also made me a lovely tunic and pair of trews, more importantly - okay, woolen tunic and the hottest day of the year was less good, but still, it was an experience. As was the fact it's slightly too big for me, so I spent a day showing off my bra straps with Simon discreetly wandering over and tugging my tunic up for me. Bless, or something like that. He is going on an NYO course in a week, and I am resigned to this, especially as this means I go on my Exciting Trip To London to see Andrew in three weeks, in which I fit in a trip to the Albert Hall for the Proms. Get me! I feel quite posh about this, although given that I am travelling on the Megabus for nine hours for the privilege (only five hours on the way back, though!) and have to take a day off work (note to self: phone the agency about this tomorrow, they already know but I need to check).
It shall be an adventure indeed. I've never been to London on my lonesome before and, well, I actually quite like travelling. I also hate and detest travelling by bus, but it's £15 all around for this trip. Admittingly it's six hours to get there, as compared to the two hours on a train, but it costs £20 just for a single to London on the train. And I am incredibly cheap. And as I said, I like London - it's exciting, and there's always something happening (admittingly, often crime) and although I don't think Andrew will let me, I might even try to get to Camden by myself. We'll see.
I have a bad urge at the moment to spend money, actually. I have a longing for some new clothes, and some new shoes. I need a new rucksack for travelling, admittingly. And I want to the new Muse album. And it's all so tempting, but I need to save this money. It's not a long contract I've got going on and I need to save so I can eat. But argh, I do miss a bit of wanton capitalism and having nice new things. Mum has actually offered to take me shopping and buy me clothes, but I feel bad spending her money. Unless it's on rent, but that's not about to be offered.
Anyway. Tomorrow I have to go to work, but tonight, I'm going to go and see Terminus again and see if I still like it when it's not seven am, and if I still find Lazzer's Disease childishly - no, wait, I'm laughing. I still find it hysterical. Besides, I do so like Tegan.
