Today the dishwasher broke because some utter halfwit put washing up liquid in it. We use it more as a rinser and a dryer, as I have to clean everything perfectly before I put it in, but still. I do not hve time to hand-dry all that washing when it's coming out covered in soap scum.

So I spent half an hour rinsing and scrubbing and cleaning just when I should have been tackling The Breakfast Dishes Of Death.

Which meant I was half an hour behind on my jobs all day.

Which meant I left half an hour late.

Also, there is a heatwave. It's going to hit 34C on Wednesday, apparently. WON'T THAT BE FUN WORKING IN A KITCHEN.

Today is not a good day. This has better not reflect the way the week's going to go, that's all I'm saying.

have you pointed out to someone in charge just how much extra time you're doing? why exactly is it your responsibility to get breakfast ready if it's being served when you come in? does no-one else actually do any work?
