hathycolToday I went out and lo! for I did spend money. I spent money that I strictly didn't have to and on more than one frivolous purchase.
With shopping and me, I normally go out with the very specific aim. I don't see things I like very often; rather, I tend to go "OMFG I WANT A CORSET" and then spend all day looking for one. Today's plan admittingly began with "OMFG I WANT A BLACK MINI SKIRT" but still, normally even that aim is because I want something to go with something I already own. I just wanted a skirt, and I did indeed buy one! And I bought a different type of black skirt! Just because I could! AND A T-SHIRT FROM TESCOS. AND AN ACADEMIC DIARY.

I feel bad for not saving, but, you know, yay capitalism! Fashion is horrendous, however, otherwise I would have bought more. We will ignore the fact that I am, as of this moment, rediscovering internet shopping. (Because hell, if I'm going to buy a corset off a market stall then Ebay is just as bad, really.) I will not start looking at DVDS and books. ONLY CHEAP FASHION FOR ME. I'm also resisting the urge to get a Questionable Content poster. Ahem.
This makes up for the utterly, utterly horrendous day at work I had. HIDEOUS AND HIDEOUS. What with the people falling over each other and shattered their pelvis amongst other things, it's been one of those days. Seriously, sometimes I miss working in shops. At least you never had to deal with ambulances. Well. Often.
And now, I am going to go and have a cup of tea. Because my life is rock and roll like that. On the bright side, it's... well, no, it's not nearly Friday at all, but a girl can pretend, right?

I WANT IT TO BE NEARLY FRIDAY. Why do we not create a world where Monday is nearly Friday?! ...I actually thought it was Wednesday tomorrow and then was terribly disappointed to find we're not even that far through the week. *sigh*

Date: 2006-08-14 11:22 pm (UTC)i'm thinking of spending all my claim money for apparently having had whiplash on a corset. a very, very good corset which fits and is pretty and all sorts. from fairygothmother, because we went there today and i tried one on and the woman pippi said no, you want this style and perhaps this size, and brought it and yay it fit wonderfull and she said yeah youc ould go down the size again and lo you shall have a waist, yea even thou with the teeny length of body.
this is probably all due to the fact that a lot of things, i just don't want the way i used to. including alcohol, interestingly. that knowledge is saving me a lot of money. which i then spend on pointless fruit.
also, andy just had a gang come in the shop two days on the run, actually hit him when he was outside the shop and basically harrass him in and outside - when he was going home they were waiting for him. i hope to god you've never had shit like that happen because it is fucking scary, and i'm fucking proud of him for leaving the first time he saw it. i stayed ages in a job like that and it made me more aggressive than i was when i was sixteen. i mean, come on. it puts you right off rretail, i'll tell you.
the kitten just brought us half a worm. lovely.
