Work was surprisingly not horrendous today. It is the Fun Day, which means the odd member of family wanders in and there is a tombola. I made sure I was out of the door by 1.55pm so as to avoid making drinks for anyone. GO ME. Also, tomorrow is Thursday, and in a moment of gay abandon I chose to take Friday off (admittingly, so I can get a lot of the housework and washing done before I go to Leeds) so tomorrow is actually my Friday, and Simon is staying over.

Hurrah!

Today I came home to discover the kitchen as an absolute mess, and Megan had her emo 15 year old friend over. "Why didn't you do the dishwasher?" I enquired.

"I emptied it!"

"Yes, but why didn't you fill it again?"

"Er... I don't like touching other people's dirty food."

EXCEPT ALL THE PLATES WERE CLEANED OFF, BITCH. I am aware that tomorrow is GCSE results day and she's a bit antsy, but honestly.

I love the fact, though, that is something isn't done and I carp to Megan about it, she cries to Dad and I get one of the talking-tos that basically say "You are living in our house rent free, so be nice or get out." I have offered three times to pay rent and am currently not mentioned the way in which I am doing all the housework after doing a six hour shift at work. A six hour shift, might I add, that I start ten minutes early every day and don't get time for a break for.

Yeah. I'm off to clean the bathroom, now, and then I'm going to sort out something to feed me and Megan for tea, and then I'm going to be my emotional mother's crutch all night while I try and keep her away from the brandy bottle and make sure she gets at least six hours of sleep and three meals a day.

I mean, it's not always that bad, because if Dad's home at least I don't have to play emotional crutch between housekeeper. And I always go to Simon's for a few hours a day, because a. I like the novelty of seeing him every day and b. to get out of the damned house. It's getting to the point where I really don't want to be here, and I worry about inviting anoyone over, and make sure it's on a day when Dad is home.

That's not right.

Right. I'm going to go and take some ibruprofen to try and soothe the nagging ache in my back and my feet (I am such an old woman), pluck my eyebrows, and do some housework and some washing, so I am packed and ready to go for Leeds. Rah!
