Oct. 4th, 2006 03:03 pmSo, because I am apparently being karmically punished for something, or more realistically because of sod's law, I have chosen now to pick up Fresher's Flu. Or, at least, I think it is, given that the entire history department has spent over three lectures and two tutorials consistently coughing and sneezing on me. Not best pleased, really. I have a horrible itchey throat and keep on sneezing and my head feels as though it's full of cotton wool. This meant I was entirely and frighteningly honest in my seminar this morning. ("Any opinions about the book?" "I hated it. I have no idea what happens in it and the central character is a hobo who wanders around singing.")
I have, by some miracle, mabaged to actually do all the stuff they've given me for tutorials; all I need to do is head on down to the library soon, which I will do after the Wyrd Sisters rehearsal. This will more or less signify death for me, because my throat hurts a lot and speaking does not appeal right now. We're also all meant to be going to see Oedipus after that, which I do want to, because I want to be sociable with everyone and actually get on with the effort of Making Some Friends which is a bit of a difficult task because I am a RAGING GREAT NERD, but from another perspective, I am feeling very ill and very sleepy. All I want to do in curl up into my bed and sleep.
Oh, and, you know, sort out my stuff, because I am going to Cambridge tomorow and apparently infecting a trainload of people. Yay!
Also, one quick criticism: why, exactly, does not one shop in St Andrews currently carry Blackcurrant Hall's Soothers?
And now I'm going to be late for my rehearsal. Shit! *flees*
