hathycolMy hands are covered in emulsion paint. Is that bad? I've spent a happy hour with some of the cast essentially poking at the backscreen and making a really pretty set. It should be lovely! I'm getting faintly optimistic about the whole thing, but we'll see how I feel after a potentially hideous tech rehearsal on Sunday.
Anyway. Yesterday was a pretty blah day, and today looked as though it was going to be the same; the rain was frighteningly heavy, to the point that the set-painting was done around sme carefully placed buckets for the drips. However, I came home to discover a sizeable cheque from my Granded, to the tune of 'paying for my MOT and THEN SOME'. My family are weird. Help with the rent? Gosh no, roofs are for the weak! Food money? Go hungry, it's your own fault for managing your money badly! Car that is technically a massive luxury when one lives in university? WE WILL PAY FOR YOUR REPAIRS AND YOUR INSURANCE AND GIVE YOU EXTRA MONEY!
You can tell my Grandad drives for a living and my Mum massively prefers him as a parent. It gets passed on, I think.
As a victory for 'MY MOT WILL NOT PUSH ME INTO MY OVERDRAFT YAYS!" I bought myself some biscuits. They cost my 30p and they will last me a week. Nevertheless, biscuits! And an MOT that is booked! Hurrah!
I should probably go and actually do some work, however, as having a functioning car will do very little towards me passing my degree.
