Dec. 3rd, 2006 02:58 pmErm, fuck.
The Ruby, in what may have been some sort of parting shot, managed to sort of nearly break my fingers last night. The counter top slammed down on my fingers (due to a CUSTOMER knocking it down!) and I then got shouted at for making a loud noise. Feeling sick from pain, wih fingers swelling up alarmingly, unable to actually drive properly and having to breathe very carefully so I didn't vomit over the order, I still went to a delivery.
(I did not get a tip. I was tempted to ask to be paid in a bag of frozen peas.)
They are not broken, because I can move them, and I can bend them, but I can't put any kind of pressure on the middle finger is particular, and the other four are pretty painful too. Luckily, my typing isn't affected because I am self-taught and only type with my first finger on either hand - and the first finger on my injured hand has been broken twice before, so to be honest, it being painful isn't a new experience for me.
I am beginning to get worried about work tomorrow. If I can't grip stuff, how in hell am I meant to manage stuff like mopping?
On the bright side, this is proof positive that Simon'll turn up soon. One of us in injured. It's a sign. *sighs*
Today
amaunet is being eaten alive by an essay, so I should probably do my gobbet and whatnot, especially as I'm off to be courted by Sasha and Rabi this evening. I am being fed home-made biscuits, and in return, I will probably agree to take them to the airport in a couple of weeks. I am a Good Human and will probably do so.

Date: 2006-12-03 09:38 pm (UTC)The plan is to head in tomorrow, see how the shift works out, if it's REALLY bad, get my arse to the hospital because something is wrong. They won't sack me, but I won't get paid for the time I'm not there. Which would suck, this near Christmas.

Date: 2006-12-03 10:15 pm (UTC)...would this be a bad time to wonder what, besides mopping, will be problematic if you can't grip?...Sorry! Sorry! Very bad taste but couldn't resist! Very sorry and I hope your fingers mend :o)
