I'm not going to put up a post containing pictures from the zoo, because it would mostly consist of me shrieking "OH MY GOD CUTE PENGUINS/LIONS/TIGERS/FLUFFY MONKEYS" and then my ovaries would explode.

I will, however, try to write a vaguely coherant post about my weekend. Wish me luck. I'm incoherantly tired, given it's not even five in the evening yet.

The Zoo! It was a wet and early start to Saturday, as we all trooped out to Tescos for the appropriate picnic lunch before heading off to Edinburgh. The drive nearly killed us several times, what with the horrendous weather and the fact that my navigational skills are second to... er... everyone in the world except those I was sharing a car with. By some miracle, we made it both safe and alive, and even found a parking space. We bundled up as best as we could and headed off to the Zoo.

And, bluntly, I had a lovely day. I really did. We did a couple of wanders around the Zoo, generally very slowly, as the whole thing was very, very uphill. We saw lots of animals, which were mostly sleeping and indoors since it was raining on and off all day. I'd recommend it as a day out, though. The fact it was winter was quite nice, in a way - the place was pretty quiet and we could have as long as we wanted cooing at the animals and trying to take photos. Penguins are AWESOME.

And I came home, happy and tired. It was a good day, until I spent three hours wrangling with the heating and the hot water.

Sunday was another chilly one, since the house was still gently warming up in its only sweet time. I sauntered out of the house nice and early and then spent all day shouting at people to try and make people join DocSoc. It had limited success, I have to admit, but it was quite good fun, in a strange way. I like doing silly things for Doctor Who. We spent the day sat next to the Monty Python Society, so we had to advertise over shouts of "NI! NI!" and enthusiastic renditions of "I'm A Lumberjack"

Good fun had by all, I think. I'm debating going to see The Holy Grail with them tonight, but I am very, very tired and have a horrific amount of work to do. I'm also getting a bit achey in my chest again, and it's making weird bubbly noises when I don't cough often. I don't feel ill, though, so I'm not overly concerned.

I wonder who is making tea tonight? I'm hungry, and I have a nagging feeling it's my turn...
