hathycolSo, I passed my exams. As expected, dragged down my mark in quite frightening ways for modern and church history but unexpectentedly KICKED ARSE in medieval. Huzzah!
Unfortunately, I have spent the last two days cleaning pressure sores and handing out cups of tea and generally wondering at what part all this bloody education became useful. Such is life. It's not a bad job - I'm much less rushed off my feet than when I do cleaning work, actually, because it goes from OH MY GOD MAD BUSY EVERYTHING MUST BE DONE to wandering around and just poking your head around the corner and checking people are, you know, still breathing.
Bloody hell, though, I sincerely hope I fall off the mortal coil before I ever end up as a patient in one of those places. It's a nice home, nice attentive staff, clean, all that malarky, but the state of most of this poor people is just terrible.
Er, yes. Away from this morbid theme (I spent last night drinking copiously with Christine to try and forget the fact I have to spend my sumer working there and also because catching up with Christine was severely overdue) I am, in fact, now off for a couple of weeks. I am off to Cambridge land on Friday (yay!!!!) and that is a good thing indeed, and then I can get around to my grand plan of seeing people on my somewhat limited days off. When I'm not being like Lady Macbeth, obviously, because oh sweet lord there is not enough time for me to clean my hands as much as I'd like because there are but twenty-four hours in the day.
Also, I am officially in love with Human Nature/Family of Blood. *nods*
