So, in my last three shifts at work there have been three (count 'em!) strokes, two of which were mini ones and one which they're still undecided on but STILL that is ridiculous.

There have been several bouts of diarrohea and as the one that can't do the the lifts as well as the bloke I was paired with, guess who did the wiping? (Are you shuddering now and slightly throwing up in your mouth? Yeah, me too.)

I have been a bar maid at an impromptu party that no one knew about until it happened and we were down on staff anyway. (Also, I did not know you could drink sherry in those quantities. You live and learn, eh?)

I have given a lot of tea to the relatives of a dying woman. You're not meant to have favourites, but she's one of mine - scroll back over the summer and a lot of my funny stories are about her. She doesn't have a single ounce of nastiness in her and was the loveliest woman I've ever had the priviledge of looking after, she never gave you any trouble; she ate happily enough with a bit of prompting, didn't object, didn't fight, always tried to help you. Hearing her breath and seeing the colour she's going... and knowing that all I could do was make the tea and make supportive noises towards the relatives of whom there are shockingly few.

I actually physically ache all over, and it was only a five hour shift today. Only 14 more hours to go until Easter, I suppose, although I am back to scrubbing toilets for a living. At least I'll be able to move after a shift at the Union; I can't believe how much my back and knees hurt at the moment.

New Year's Eve was quite enjoyable, though. I ate food that was bad for me and saw in the New Year sober and with Simon, which was definitely good. Back to St Andrews in four days, which is also possibly good in terms of my mental health but less good in terms of the heating being on. Never mind.
