Jan. 15th, 2008 12:08 pmHey, look, I managed to beat my exam insomnia by way of killing my brain slowly watching Bring It On and then I slept for WAY too many hours.
Now it is *checks* gone noon and I am sitting on my bed in my pajamas and my dressing gown with my hair in bunches with nothing in the way of exam preparation except the biography of Charles II by Antonia Fraser which is sort of revision because it's an easy way of remembering the vital dates and also HOT DAMN is Fraser the best historical writer I have ever come across - it's not new research but she makes it accessible. But, er, yeah.
Er. So now I need to go and get dressed, and have a shower, and I should probably debate going across to the shop for some more milk and then I need to frantically revise EVERYTHING because OH MY GOD MY EXAMS ARE OVER THE NEXT TWO DAYS AND I AM SO SCREWED.
Incidentally, good people at the BBC, there were two days of all of January that were bad to put the new series of Torchwood on. WHY OH WHY DO YOU PUT IT ON ONE OF THOSE DAYS.
Right. Going to go and do my extra reading on Alexander Nevsky and then I'm going to force myself to sit through it. I don't care if it's directed by Eisenstein and has a score by Prokoviev - it's a glorified piece of propaganda done in the style of an operetta. I'm only watching it because then I can make some clever statements about it because it's a useful comparison. It took me a week to get through it last time. This is going to be unpleasant.
