Jan. 16th, 2008 10:22 pmRight, so basically I sort of hate Torchwood and everyone in it. I do. Honest. I have long proclaimed that the Sarah-Jane Adventures are the superior.
Except for now. I may have been laughing and cheering my way through that episode. It was brilliant and cheered me up no end. I mean, they had a blowfish alien! And Spike! And lots of sexual innuendo without the awfulness!
And I am now officially shopping Jack/Ianto because Ianto has grown a backbone. I sort of love Ianto a little bit based purely on the trailer, too and the fact that he sort of stood up for himself and is generally a bit awesome.
It was just... good. Actually proper dead good in that it was crap but it embraced the crack. It even had an alien on cocaine, ferchrissakes.
I hope Martha and Toshiko sleep together.
Erm, yes. No proper write-up, but my overall sensation is of complete enjoyment. Of course now I have expectations that will be cruelly dashed, but all in all: Torchwood, you're doing it right.
Sarah-Jane is still clearly the best, obviously, but this is the first time I've got proper fannish phone-everyone-and-post-on-LJ love of something Doctor Who related since "The Sound of Drums."
WIN.
(Exam tomorrow - NOT WIN. We ignore this. Ys.)
