I was trying to think positively about this morning. For example, rather than be miserable that my alarm had gone off and it was another week of work, I was marvelling that at least the dinosaurs menacing me in my sleep did not, in fact, exist.

Then I got to work, discovered my boss was off and the Big Boss Wi' The Hat was in instead, who doesn't have keys and is generally crap to cleaners, leaving us arsey notes about health and safety and toilets being properly cleaned and never confronts us. As such, it was with a mild amount of venom that I sauntered up to him and said that I didn't have the correct cloths to clean the bathroom.

Well, I didn't. The weekend staff are crap. We are all a little more conscientous, and stick to the 'red cloth for toilets, yellow cloth for other stuff in bathrooms and blue for everywhere else.' I was presented with only blue cloths, with is a clear violation of health and safety, even by my low standards. Now, he didn't have the key to get into the supply cupboard, so I said that it would be a struggle, but I would do without the correct cloths and would dispose of them after use.

OH NO. He grabbed a crowbar and broke in to the cupboard. Now to my mind that's not health and safety conscious but that's beside the by. IT WAS NOT EVEN HALF SEVEN YET. TOO EARLY FOR ALL THIS. WHO BREAKS INTO CUPBOARDS FOR RED CLOTHS? I couldn't even begin to find the positive in that situation, although it did mean I could get my cleaning equipment, I suppose?

The rest of the day has been really rather boring, given I've spent most of it not doing any work whatsoever and now just have a blank presentation plan looking at me rather accusingly. Oh dear.

[etc: ... and I've been relegated from 'Cleaning Lady' to 'Eurydice' in upcoming Doctor Who themed play. This involves fewer lines, less of THE FEAR due to too many lines and less of the nagging suspicion that I will, in fact, be a cleaner for the rest of my days. Phew!]
