IRON MAN 3 IS AWESOME. So, on Sunday Richie and I went to see Iron Man 3.

AND LO it was awesome.

It was a significant improvement on Iron Man 2, I have to see. Before going to see the film I had read a lot of Avengers fanfiction and had sort of got a bit bored of woobie!Tony, but that ended up being most of the film. Touche, fanfiction. But it worked, to be honest, even without Tony being cured via sex with Steve.

I think I was meant to be be more traumatised by Pepper dying, but my only response was 'well, I told you'. Then she, you know, wasn't dead. That said, that wasn't too much of a surprise. I couldn't really find myself caring about Happy, either, because I'm a bad person. When Dummy fell into the ocean, though? I WAS A WRECK. I have no idea what this says about my priorities.

Because I'm not a comic book fan, I really enjoyed the twist with the Mandarin - genuine chortling on this side, and one outraged howl of "HE'S A LIVERPOOL FAN?" It was a very clever bit of marketing, I must admit - I didn't see the actual villain coming at all.

I found myself thinking an awful lot of the time '... just call Steve!' so I was very pleased to see that at least Bruce has in fact moved into Stark Tower. (Plus, the destruction of the Malibu house means he has a very good reason to move to New York?) I have now decided in my head that Steve was off seeing America and was camping at the time, so just didn't see any TV- he was outraged, in the end, that no one bothered to call him. SHIELD were, for a long complex reason, unavailable, and Nat and Clint were in Tajikstan. Because, well, these things happen?

I am mildly worried that the film ended with 'TONY STARK WILL RETURN'. At first I thought 'yay!' and then a little part of me thought '... so not Iron Man? Is that what we're saying?'

I think I need to go and see it again.

In other fandom news, I went out last night and Fiona told me that Ned The Pie Man from Pushing Daisies in Thranduil. I haven't been so genuinely surprised since I found out that Zac Efron was in Firefly and that George and Gracie aren't real whales. (That was a bad weekend.)

This weekend I am going to Aberdeen on a Weekend With The Inlaws. It should be interesting. Four day weekend. Yay!
