Apr. 15th, 2008 03:57 pmSo, I just e-mailed my tutor, asking if he could point me towards being given any information about my dissertation.
I got an e-mail back essentially implying that I was a total retard, when all I wanted was to see, you know, my bloody tutor to give me some advice on how the fuck I go about getting this done. Call me arsey, but everyone else in every other history department gets a meeting about this. Why are us generalists considered the bastard child of the department?
Right. Fuck it. I'm going to e-mail the person I want to supervise me, and I'm probably going to make a total tit of myself and be refused.
And now I'm going to go and write my godforsaken bloody gobbets and do all the millions of other things I was meant to do today. On the bright side, I got a free lunch, as my grandparents came to visit. Huzzah.
*fumes quietly*
[eta: to the Welsh people on my flist: I LOVE YOU DEEPLY. However, you have single-handedly broken my spell-checker. I am talking about the Treaty of Aberconwy and have just quoted the phrase: and Tudur ab Ednyfed and Gronw ap Heilyn gave and assigned on the part of Llywelyn ap Gruffyd. Gronw? Wuh? I can deal wtih Tudur because I know what that turns into, and I like Llywelyn is a nice name even if I can't pronounce it, but DEAR GOD. Anyone fancy giving me a hand? My trusty Welsh alphabet that a Welsh friend kindly sent me and talked me through isn't helping at all here.]
