Yesterday, I think I turned into a girl. I went out shopping to Dundee spending five rather good lazy hours wandering about and spending money. Katie and I even Did Lunch rather than, you know, a fast food outlet. Okay, it was a Wetherspoons but by our low standards that is classy, yo. To prove my classy self, I even bought a dress (okay, from Primark) and lots of Lush stuff as I am currently in preparation for the May Ball I'm going to in Cambridge; so help me god, I will have good hair and good skin and if the way to do this is a face pack rom Lush I have to keep in the fridge then that is just what is going to have to happen.

Upon returning home, we decided that what the rest of the day needed was cocktails in classy dresses, uncomfortable shoes and bars that were outside of our comfort zone. And this is, in fact, what occured! We even put preparation into it, again, a rarity for people who tend to fling make-up at their faces and hope their clothes are clean.

So, yes. We tottered out, I switched shoes half way there (this, ladies, is why you should take a small pair of flat shoes everywhere and a REALLY BIG BAG), and we flung ourself at the Rulke and their Monday drinks offer of cocktails for £2.50. SCORE. However, our evening had a slighty neferious purpose. St Andrews, you see, is the home of golf. This is a fact that often depresses a lot of people, except presumably the golfers. However, I rarely encounter these mythical beasts except for swearing at them when they cross the street slowly, but the Curtis Cup was on this weekend and ended yesterday.

As such, three cocktails keeping us warm in the blistering wind, Katie and I headed out to parts of the map that were unknown to us, or at least only slightly known to us. We went to the Lizzard, which is one of the posh bars in town. We discovered it was rock night with a transvestite DJ. This was great fun, but bereft of golfers. As such, on to Ma Bells, which Prince William went to once. Fed up of cocaine and rich people, though, it's had a re-branding, and we drank reasonably priced drinks and listened to acousic music. We also made friends with an obscenely rich golfer who was called Steve and bribed the bouncer at the Lizzard to get us back in.

SCORE.

It was a great fun night, and my hangover is barely there, which is another new thing for me. Recently I've been suffering from hangovers of death and pain, throwing up for the first time in all my life (and always in a bin and once a taxi; I never make the loo) and just generally really feeling it. Today? Fine!

Those who have spent any time with me know this outfit is antithesis to me. Waht you can't see are the floral print wedges (which I picked up for 50p in January in Primark's Just Get Rid Of It season) and the cropped tights I have on. I have clearly been watching too much Gok Wan.

Katie is classy.

Not any more, though.

I am proper loving this 'time off' concept.

heh. primark. i can't walk into the place. sorry but no.

on the other hand: wow! GIRLY! heh. glad you're having fun :)

surely the best way to have good skin would be lots of fruit and veg, lots of water and fruit juice, and very little fats/dairy?
it's not that hard. i can even eat wheat now.
i drink peppermint or marshmellow tea to help settle the stomach, by the way. they may help on hangover days.
