a shaggy colleen story
Jun. 21st, 2008 03:33 pmSo. I am shallow. I like getting my hair done every now and again and today I went to the Posh Place because, well, I could. I went with absolutely no specifications for what I wanted, as this is the first time in my life I don't have health and safety considerations in my working life. Literally, it was a case of "okay, I don't really care what you do, but I want to look a bit different. Also I own no straighteners." Normally I have to say 'oh, well, I need to be able to tie it back etc etc'.
So, the hairdresser looked at me. My hair was in relatively good nick, actually; it needed thinning again, but other than that it was relatively well-kept for me. She suggested lopping off some of the length and putting in some layers. This has happened to me before, but always with the idea of being able to tuck it behind my ears and keep it neat.
It looked like this when I got home:

However, given my hair is constantly evolving in the manner of something looking to stomp around downtown Tokyo, it now looks more like this:

I'm not 100% sure if I like it, but it's different, and I'm feeling a need to express that at the moment. (WHY O WHY does every single place that sells clothes, after months of selling what I'd like to wear, now sell nothing but stuff I don't want to purchase?) I'll go back to pinning/tying it back and putting scarves in it, I'm sure, but it's nice to have another option.
Opinions?
