Work gave me a bottle of very, very nice red wine to say thanks for my awesome score re: mystery shopping. I am now torn - drink it all because it's lovely, or save it for the same reason? OH, THESE AGONIES DO NOT EXIST WITH THE £3 BOTTLE.

I have drank about a third. I will be leaving the rest, given my quiet resolution regarding weekday drinking and also because it will be very nice to slowly drink the rest throughout the upcoming days. There is also the fact that my resolution about weekday drinking was taken in context of weekends of multiple vodkas and bottles of wine drank in gay abandon. Therefore, I FEEL NO GUILT. Plus, lovely lovely red wine. Om nom nom. (schlurp scchlurp schlurp?)

In other news, I had the nicest sandwich in the world today, courtesy of my Gregg's vouchers, the other part of the 'well done for not fucking up the mystery shop!' package. This is about as exciting as things are getting right now. There are some very vague plans afoot for my 21st next month, vague and hampered mostly because I have absolutely no idea if there's even going to be anyone in St Andrews. If you can/would like to make it up to St Andrews around the 11th August, then drop me a line?

I want to go visit Edinburgh sometime this summer, so I'm sure I can arrange it so I can be in St Andrews around then. Let me know which day is best and whether or not I could kip on your floor and I'll make my way up there!

I have a sofa you could kip on! Birthday is on Monday 11th August, better known as Cheap Cocktail Night In St Andrews, and I have a vague plan regarding Classy Shenanigans; go out for a meal and then hit the bars on the cheap, in a way that can be described as Dressed Up.

PLUS St Andrews is but an hour from Edinburgh by train and there's a direct bus that's cheaper that is also direct, albeit about two hours longer... it would be absolutely lovely to see you, given it's been literally years. (Which is what happens when you move to opposite ends of the country, I suppose.)

In that case, I may do Edinburgh at the weekend, and then head to St Andrews on the Monday morning and then come home late Tuesday possibly.

I have only just got home so haven't really looked into anything yet, but even if I don't manage to go to Edinburgh I shall still head to St Andrews!

OOOhh. *is tempted* There's a chance I'll be in Newcastle around then visiting The Boy, so I'll be more than half way to Scotland. Is St Andrews far from Newcastle? I've never been to Scotland - I feel the need to reconcile this. I might have to ponder this one.

Dude can you remember what that website was that we found in college and it was Elladan's diary and they had an iguana called Dr Green and they nick-named Elrohir Eltendo and Erestor had a prince albert and wore bad jumpers?

Ooh! Ooh! Me! Me! maybe. Dave's got a week booked off work RIGHT THAT VERY WEEK and I think I've convinced him to make the trip to Edinburgh. So I don't see why we couldn't stray a little from the path :)
Nicest sandwich in the world sounds damn exciting to me :) as does lovely wine! Have fun sweetie

That is an eminently sensible idea, I think! St Andrews isn't all that interesting... let me know what's going on and we can arrange you getting to my house, etc, etc.

Couple of hours and there's a direct train or you can change at Edinburgh. St Andrews is a great way to be introduced to Scotland! Come and see me, you know you want to.

After a bit of investigate googling (and I think the IT people are going to revoke my internet rights after this) I present the whole thing and it's many sequels (all of which are funny):

http://elffetish.com/fiction.html IT's all of the first stories up. I'd look for longer, but the library is about to close :-(
