Last night I went out into Liverpool. I was mildly worried that the fact I was so tired I wasn't entirely sure what was real would impact on my enjoyment of the night, but fortunately I woke up on the train, and the world seemed to make sense again, and I could communicate with other people. This was good, as I more or less just pointed at the ticket office in order to get across my point.

So, awake and alive, I met up with Hannah, who I haven't seen for three years. Enid wasn't able to make it due to British Rail being, as per usual, complete cunts. However, fun was still had! We went to find the giant spider first, but it had been moved. I only found out from the local news when I got home that it was now on the waterfront. I think I'm a bit glad I didn't see it, actually...

After that, it was a short walk to find somewhere to eat. ("I only know the diner place," I admitted.) We ended up at a vegan and vegetarian cafe called Egg, I think, and had the most enormously piled up up plate at a total bargain. My mushroom were too spicy, unfortunately, but other than that, it was great; catching up over the last three years whilst eating mounds of food, and probably freaking the hell out of other people there. Still, though, GOOD FUN.

As it was still pretty early when we left, we ended up going for a drink and chatting some more in a completely empty bar. For two people originally from nearish Liverpool, it was slightly shocking how little we actually knew in terms of geography and streets. Still, though, it was good, going through geeky stuff, comparing notes on people we knew, just generally chatting and making promises to visit in Manchester/Scotland. Unfortunately, because I am LAME and because I work bloody silly shifts, I had to leave fairly early before I fell asleep.

We left with a vow not to leave it three years before we did this again. "We'd be 24!" wailed Hannah. "That's really old!"

And now it is... well, afternoon. I feel relatively sane again, and I only have one afternoon of work left, which is today. YAHOO say I.

Yeah, I have very little directional sense as well, so I often get lost in what should be local, familiar cities... heh. Didn't we eat at a nice little cafe just near the diner place once? I suppose that wouldn't be open of an evening though :)
Glad you had a good time, I always think the best nights are when you don't quite know what's real... and congratulations on finishing work! :)
