Oct. 23rd, 2008 04:56 pmSo. This is, it turns out, a bloody busy week.
Tomorrow, you see, is Altoc vs DocSoc, an event I am wheeling between terror and excitement about. It seemed like a good idea three weeks ago! Basically, we're getting together and playing music at each other. We are, in fact, being a bit geeky at each other. The posters going up are great - the cover of that Morrissey album where he's holding a machine gun, with the caption 'Heaven knows you're miserable now, Doctor!' against a picture of the Doctor with the sonic screwdriver, the caption simply reading 'Screw you, Morrissey!' (An injoke, there.)
We're going to put up lots of wall decorations on the night, and the DJ sets are all prepped, and I think I'm going the most aggressively nerdish, and it should be great fun. Assuming, of course, people actually turn up and dance. And that's worrying me a bit. I know, and indeed you all know, that nerds are awesome fun people, but this event may seem a little intimidating to people. I hope it doesn't, because, well, these are two of my favourite bunches of uni people and I want them all to get on. And for DocSoc to win, obviously, but that's by the by.
Ah well. I'll have a good night, anyway. There are some alumni coming up for it, so that should be ace.
I also haven't even started my essay plan, let alone writing the buggar. On the bright side, I have finished my reading, and I'm going to see High School Musical 3 tonight. So, you know, there's some high points there, right?
In other news, it is blowing an absolute gale out there. Brrrr.
