Right. You know what? One day soon, this dissertation will be over and I am absolutely convinced that whatever godforsaken curse I am under will lift. Ever since I got this project approved, my life has just fallen apart and it keeps on falling.

Thus far (in no particular order):

-engagement broke down;
-car accident;
-ongoing back problems;
-washing machine broken twice now and people are not passing on bloody important messages from the landlady which is a little rude considering that people are not going to have to be the ones to deal with it;
-grandfather hospitalised; later operated on;
-grandmother still in hospital; operation happening soon, possibly?
-laptop broke down;
-failed to get into civil service;
-still ill with bloody cold that's leaving me sleeping for twelve hours a night;
-problems with DocSoc finding accommodation;
-coldest winter in thirty years.

I would say 'oh god, what else?' but life has proved that it both can and will get worse so I don't want to tempt it. Obviously good things have happened too, but... well, to be honest with you, I just can't wait for 2008 to be over.

I'm going to do that 'end of year' meme in a week or so. It should be instructive.

hear hear. The 2nd half of 2008 has been altogether hell for me too. Here's to a much much better 2009!
