Mar. 14th, 2009 03:36 pmI had to get up really early yesterday, so that I could shclep over to Dunfermline to get my back poked at to prove that my back really is bad. Quite frankly, it does hurt, quite significantly some days, but the bloke seemed convinced I should visit a GP. I'm vaguely of the opinion that if you have something that is sorted out with painkillers - my mum whinges about her bad back and doesn't take painkillers, which I have no truck with whatsoever - then I probably shouldn't bother a GP with it. I'll give it a wee bit longer. Either way, it was a very long drive for a very short consultation, and then running to work afterwards was so fun at all, given I was having a smallish gathering afterwards.
So. Comic Relief! We were having a bit of a get-together for it, which was meant to be a small meet-up, and suddenly loads of people were turning up and
linewesurion was sleeping on the sofa. Still, it's all good and it was nice to catch up. Unfortunately, I was running so late yesterday that people were rocking up as I was running around with a hoover and trying to clean my teeth.
I quite enjoyed Comic Relief last night, though. A large percentage of David Tennant fangirls made up the audience in my living room very excited for the first section of it, howling things along the lines of "GET YOUR HANDS OFF DAVINA AND PUT THEM ON ME!" and variants thereof. He was quite good on Mastermind - "How very dare you!" although we did better as a team. The unexpected!SJA was just, well, terrible, although K-9 is always a welcome relief; more better was David Tennant's unexpected appearence on Top of the Pops. We were sort of haphazardly watching it, mostly keeping an eye out of Noel Fielding, and then I found myself shrieking at the room "UNEXPECTED TENNANT!" He also can't dance. That was worth watching.
Oh, and the same applied to unexpected Sir Digby Chicken-Ceasar. Huzzah!
So that was great fun, but I'm absolutely shattered now; I slept for way too long today, and have bucketloads of work to be getting on with right now. On the bright side, I have half a bottle of wine and loads of nibbles left over from last night, which'll do very nicely for Let's Dance For Comic Relief tonight. In the meanwhile, though, lots of work to do and nowhere near enough time...
