Apr. 6th, 2009 11:28 amOh man, did I need some good news this week, and hurrah, I just got some!
Just got a phonecall from the garage, informing me that I had a problem with my rev thingy valve wotsit (technical term there) which makes ALL KINDS OF SENSE as the car only cuts out when you let the revs drop suddenly when you have to change gear, generally at roundabouts. They have cleaned it and taken it out and apparently it's all working; the car refusing to start was basically because, and I quote, 'Fords tend to do that after a bit'.
I got a bonus at work on Friday, for around £90, due to us doing rather well on sales over a quarter. I figured all of that would be gone repairing the damn thing, as well as a large hit on the overdraft. Instead, repairs have cost me all of £15 plus VAT.
This is only a little thing, I realise, but I have spent all of my life getting cars repaired for unexpected extortionate amounts of money, so thank christ for this say I.
Now I am going to make soup and write several thousand words of essay goodness and enjoy having a little bit of a rather large weight on my shoulders taken off. Fingers crossed the rest of it dissipates soon.
