Jul. 22nd, 2010 07:58 pmI did thirty lengths in the pool! That's a mile and a half! This is a new record.
Also, the primary school and high school near me (or, to put it another way, my old primary and high schools which are entertainingly STILL the bane of my life several A-Levels and a degree later) have now finished for the summer and the roads are deliciously empty which means I get another five minutes in bed in the morning. This is not exciting to you, but it is very exciting to me.
Also my auntie is pregnant. This is not particularly relevant to my interests other than in the mild entertainment that is observing the car crash that is that side of the family; the fact that this is Dot's second child-out-of-wedlock is not so much the issue, nor is it that the father is different to Chloe (her first child) but that the father of the child is not white. Now, to any other family this might be something mentioned in passing. However, my grandmother - therefore Dot's mum - is the kind of lady that has been known to shout racist abuse at nearby Pakistani families, so to be honest it's sort of hilarious. It would be nice, actually, if it would make that side of the family less racist, as it's not just the older generations but it's also highly visible in the younger generations. (Mum rebelled by being incredibly open-minded and liberal about pretty much everything which was compunded by her marrying Dad. Black, white, trans, cisgender lady, whatever, as long as me and my sister don't get pregnant she's not fussed.) However, it will probably cause a large amount of friction and as we are currently on officially frosty relations it's hilarious. I think that maybe makes me an awful person. There we go.
I have nothing else to write about, other than that Celebrity Masterchef is back on telly and I properly love that program. And that I got rejected for a job, but I'm taking heart that they at least took the time to write to me and tell me that.
