Jan. 6th, 2011 05:54 pmI think I am suffering from what could be termed a flu hangover. Ear still hasn't cleared up and work is an unmitigated nightmare, so by the end of the day I can't think of anything other than curling up in a small ball under a blanket. Actually I want to do that from about 2pm, but I have no blankets in work. Probably for the best, really.
It does mean, however, that I'm racing through books like there's no tomorrow. I've been re-reading stuff, and I'm getting towards the end of The Amber Spyglass. Re-reading is non-taxing to my brain and more importantly my throat, as I keep getting all croaky in work as my throat is still all bleurgh. I think that is the technical term.
I need to go and make some food. I have a recipe I'd really like to try, but to be honest I have a big tub of leftover pasta bake from last night and that will take all of three minutes to re-heat. Slaving over a stove for something that may or may not be edible, or eating something that I made out of a jar and is perfect winter comfort food? I think we all know what's going to happen in this scenario.
I need it to be daylight again when I wake up, I think.
(That said, I am going to SOCIALISE on Saturday. The only human beings I've seen recently are my housemates, my colleagues, and the lady in Aldi who put my shopping through. It will be nice to see OTHER PEOPLE.)
