Aug. 15th, 2011 07:25 pmOkay so I had the best weekend EVER. Despite the terrible terrible hangover. Ahem.
On Saturday I woke up and did ALL OF THE THINGS, including scrubbing the house, prepping lots of food, and re-arranging the living room. Richie helped massively with this, so we got a little bit of time together as well before I managed to fall asleep and then run around the house like a madwoman because I hadn't made enough food or got changed or OH MY GOD ANYTHING. Painting your nails whilst also chopping vegetables is not a method I recommend.
Still, everything seemed to be ready and then lots of people started turning up! It was a really strange mix of people, but in the best possible way - there were people I know from the internet, people I know from Guides, random other friends, work people. I had insisted that everyone bought good and drink, which led to the most delightful scenario of our table being full of tasty food, the fridge being full of booze, and the flat being full of friends. Plus, we had just enough chairs for everyone!
We all drank slightly too booze, and chatted, and everyone got on really well, which is probably helped by the large amount of booze. Did I mention the booze? We played the box game, which if you haven't played before I thoroughly recommend. You have to pick up a box with your teeth. The box is on the floor and only your feet can touch the floor. Take a layer off the box with each round. Fall over in increasingly humourous ways.
The evening was long and late, and it was fabulous. I fell into bed at about 4.30am which is why two days later I am still shattered and a bit hungover, as I am now officially an old person. I also think I may be a bad influence, judging by the amount of glass recycling I had to take away this morning! SORRY ALL. But it was all completely worth it, as I feel very loved and also I eating and drinking leftovers pretty much forever. OH YES.
And now the weekend is over, and my flat is cleared up of paper plate debris (it was, er, interesting on Sunday morning) and now I am going to have a bath, as the box game has destroyed my poor old legs.
