So LJ is refusing to let me in and Facebook has voluntarily changed for the incomprehensibly worse. Buggar.

Work is dreadful, but mostly because there are not one, not two, but THREE road closures on my way in at the moment. I am not good enough at geography to cope with this, so have to sit in ridiculously long diversions. I think I have a route for tomorrow, but knowing my luck somewhere else will be bloody shut by then.

This is the point where I would say 'on the bright side, I'm not in work on Friday!' which is true. I am not in work as we are attempting Wedding Planning 1A, where hopefully the M6 won't be closed and we'll be able to actually see our reception venue, sort some flowers and cake, and get the signatures sorted for the photographer. FINGERS CROSSED FOLKS.

It's Freshers Week in St Andrews, and I would give my left leg to go bopping on the Friday night, but alas, it is not to be. The person putting us up is chucking us out at 8am on Saturday as he's going to a conference. We can't stay anywhere else as we let him down once before and we've promied him food. (He's a friend of Richie, I don't know him, but I'm sure I will soon, obv.) However, this means I have to wake up disgustingly early.

Even worse, Saturday heralds The Great In-Law Meet-Up. It is not great. Richie family and my family have never met before, mostly by dint of living several hundred miles apart, so the trek to Glasgow is being made by my parents and Richie's parents. I have a mum, a dad, and an adult sister who is not invited. Richie's lot turning up is a father, a stepmother, a mother and a younger sister. I, er. This could all be interesting, mostly because accents will be mutually imcomprehensible. Richie's dad is on the phone right now and he is a lovely, lovely man but I don't think we understand one word in three we say to each other!

On the bright side I have booked a lovely looking restaurant so at least I will eat well and hopefully there will not be a family implosion of some description. And if there is, no one will see each other again until the wedding. SORTED, SEE.

In non-related news: today I was at work. There was a problem with the customer. I tried to phone her. She phoned me back. She was in the hospital. In labour. About to have a CAESARIAN. Seriously, lady, you had a more important delivery to worry about! The British obsession with driveways never fails to amaze me...
