Jul. 29th, 2012 09:28 pmDespite a large amount of bitterness towards the Olympics ("Tell them that they're LAZY COCKNEY GOBSHITES!" was an actual phrase I howled at a haulage firm at work on Friday due to a London depot giving up work at 3.30pm which was NO GOOD FOR ME) the opening ceremony was just amazing. I particularly enjoyed the bit with the Queen (also the fact that she had to sit and watch Dizzee Rascal), and St Andrews, and the general battiness of it all. I found myself genuinely laughing, which I didn't expect, and I thought the music was mostly a good choice. However, I do wish it has ended slightly earlier. I am unsure if there were just too many countries or alternatively if Jacob Rogge could have just SHUT UP earlier. "QUIET YOU," was what I howled a lot at Paul McCartney.
Getting up for work six hours later was something of a challenge. Still, I got to go out after work and meet Jess for lunch, which ended up stretching over four hours of chatting. It was a lovely catch up. I'm not very good at socialising these days due to very boring things like time constraints and needed to do stuff like go to work and sleep, but it was a good afternoon.
Came home, quick nap, and was woken up by Richie with an excitingly swollen eye, and the other one starting to swell up. This meant we spent much of the early evening in Ormskirk minor injuries department. At least we got to spend the evening watching Inception and hoping that the steroids kicked in soon. (It's eczema, of a sort, and flares up occasionally, and Richie won't listen to me howling "WILL YOU GO TO THE DOCTORS PLEASE" and attempts to sort it himself and it turns out he found something he's allergic too. I am turning into my mother.)
Back to work tomorrow, and then next week August happens. In August I am 25. I'm finding it difficult to process this so am mostly ignoring it.

Date: 2012-07-29 09:30 pm (UTC)I am so far not loving being 25, despite unexpected amounts of Doctor Who. *sigh* I hope things will be better after hand in.
