Despite a large amount of bitterness towards the Olympics ("Tell them that they're LAZY COCKNEY GOBSHITES!" was an actual phrase I howled at a haulage firm at work on Friday due to a London depot giving up work at 3.30pm which was NO GOOD FOR ME) the opening ceremony was just amazing. I particularly enjoyed the bit with the Queen (also the fact that she had to sit and watch Dizzee Rascal), and St Andrews, and the general battiness of it all. I found myself genuinely laughing, which I didn't expect, and I thought the music was mostly a good choice. However, I do wish it has ended slightly earlier. I am unsure if there were just too many countries or alternatively if Jacob Rogge could have just SHUT UP earlier. "QUIET YOU," was what I howled a lot at Paul McCartney.

Getting up for work six hours later was something of a challenge. Still, I got to go out after work and meet Jess for lunch, which ended up stretching over four hours of chatting. It was a lovely catch up. I'm not very good at socialising these days due to very boring things like time constraints and needed to do stuff like go to work and sleep, but it was a good afternoon.

Came home, quick nap, and was woken up by Richie with an excitingly swollen eye, and the other one starting to swell up. This meant we spent much of the early evening in Ormskirk minor injuries department. At least we got to spend the evening watching Inception and hoping that the steroids kicked in soon. (It's eczema, of a sort, and flares up occasionally, and Richie won't listen to me howling "WILL YOU GO TO THE DOCTORS PLEASE" and attempts to sort it himself and it turns out he found something he's allergic too. I am turning into my mother.)

Back to work tomorrow, and then next week August happens. In August I am 25. I'm finding it difficult to process this so am mostly ignoring it.

Wasn't it such fun! I was delighted by so much of it. Never thought of the Queen being forced to listen to Dizzee Rascal though, that is the BEST.

A certain darling man of mine has that too! Only around one eye, and as long as he moisturises it it's not too bad, but still. I have been saying 'dear, please will you go to the doctor? Don't you think you ought to go to the doctor? I really think you ought to go to the doctor' for ABOUT EIGHT MONTHS. He finally went last week, and they said eczema and prescribed him two kinds of cream, yay.

I am so far not loving being 25, despite unexpected amounts of Doctor Who. *sigh* I hope things will be better after hand in.

I have convinced myself that during all those bits where she looked bored she was actually downloading his back catalogue to the royal iPod. She strikes me as a lady who would really enjoy a bit of Fix Up, Look Sharp. (My current guilty pleasure song in the car, to my intense bemusement.)

Things will be much better after the hand-in! I've decided it will for you. :-)
