TV= crap. Fanfic= read all I can be bothered with. Homework= Blissfully undone. Am now in the world of quizzes (mainly ones I had to DJ) to add to this.... found a good LOTR one... so, number one.

[It was here. It screwed my entry up. It was Aragolas, okay?]

Ah, blessed Aragolas. (I got Legolas/Elrond in the first one. Ugh.) Now to try TTT one...

Page is being slow loading...

Oooooh, this person has a LiveJournal. So, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] noxwise for the mildy amusing quizzes.

[This was Aragorn/Haldir. It may have been screwing my entry up. I'm gutted, it was so pretty beforehand...]

Actually, lets NOT thank her. ARAGORN/HALDIR? HOW THE FRELL DID THAT HAPPEN? I mean, ok. Tension ahoy. Possible shag in Lothlorien, and lets be honest, Haldir's as gay as a goose anyway. But ARAGOLAS!! THE SHEER TENSION IN TTT! The smouldering looks, the subtle conversation... hang on... that happened to Aragorn/Haldir and Legolas/Haldir... bear with me. I'm trying this again,

[See above, but Aragolas]

Don't care how much I rigged it, thats MUCH better.

This is nabbed from [livejournal.com profile] noxwise again, because it echoes a lot of my sentiments over slash, after attempting to explain to Martin, during English, the joy of slash. Danny-boy got it though, phew. (He disagrees, but sees possibility. In hobbit slash and dwarf slash. I try to teach them, but it doesn't work, sigh)

"Now I've reached the point where I can safely say that nothing's really sacred to me anymore. I will go to hell. Go, me! *grins*

Which brings me to a question: What will you go to hell for?

Which brings me to another question - why do we even assume that what we're doing will guarantee us a ticket to hell?

I find it amusing how easily you can still freak some people out by suggesting that slashy things are happening between their beloved, and of course entirely het, chars. It's not like these people don't have their own sexual fantasies, but eek! let's all go to confession on Sunday, because you just don't talk about things like that.
I pity every closet slasher, seriously. And it makes me proud that the slash community doesn't give a shit what others think about what we're doing. You don't have to be gay to like slash. But you have to at least be an open-minded person. It's sad when people feel like they have to hide their slash obsession, like it's a horrible thing to like. As long as we don't dare to step out of our closets, things will never change in our society.

My question is, do we have to tolerate homophobia? Do we have to at least try to understand it?

Seriously, I've tried. But I can't even remember a time when I could understand what it was all about. I just never got why it freaks people out like that."

Think I will email her. As one of a small minority of female, gay-sort-of-bi-due-to-elf-fetish slashers feel quite helped by said email. When I mention slash in normal conversations, I get a sort of "But.... they're... Colleen, they're straight!" "How do you know?" That's an actual conversation between me and Daniel over the Aragolas issue. Ok, may just have to give in over the Aragorn issue.
"So what if he got married, he might be bi!"
"Colleen, he loved Arwen since the first time he saw her."
"Arwen was a virgin on her wedding night. He met Arwen when he was 20. They married when he was 80. He's male. You think he might of shagged someone anyway?"

Then we got onto Legolas:
"Danny, he never marries."
"AS FAR AS WE KNOW. He could have a Lady of Ithilien." [Random fact, that would translate as Ithilwen, or Lady of the Moon] "Or he could have someone in Mirkwood or Greenwood or whatever they're calling it. Tolkien didn't write about him THAT much! He doesn't have a mother! There's detilas WE DON'T KNOW"
"He. Wasn't. Married. There had to be a reason for that."
"He could be waiting for a nissi in Valinor!"
"OR he's secretly lusting after Aragorn."
"Colleen, you're hopeless. Dwarf slash, now THAT'S plausible."

(Sweetie, it's plausible, but dwarves don't look nearly as pretty together)

So, we don't KNOW any of the canon character's are straight. Statistically, one or two had be gay. So why do people get so freaked about slash? Tis odd. I'll stop thinking now, it hurts.

I've used SO much HTML in this post. Then it fucked up this entry. So I took it all out. Woe is me.... back to normality... Feel oddly proud. Am going now. Have to learn French... not sure WHY. Most of class missing. Lot of year missing, actually. All going to a play for Of Mice and Men. I read To Kill a Mockingbird, so I get French and maths class of about 4 people... yay.

So, I'll stop babbling. Namarie! ~Hathy_Col~
