Grandad's coming today! Grandad's coming today!
I realise that in previous posts I may have bitched about various grandparents. However, these are the ones that I get on better with- my mums Dad and her stepmum. (I have enough family on Mums side to make up for the lack of it on Dad's side). However, they got married when I was but a wee egg, and therefore the pair have always been Grandad and Nan. And they're coming today, in a few hours! *bounces again*
They're coming to watch the show. *stops bouncing* Can't quite believe it's in a few hours. We've lost my wand (eeep) and my whistle (bigger eeeep) so I'll have to forage around in the two hours prep time I've got. I'm not too nervous, since it won't hit until I'm at the back of the hall in costume, watching Saved By The Bell dance. When I start moving, I won't be nervous. There's a wonderful exhileration to being on stage- the nerves beforehand add to it. The adreneline races, the heart-rate is up, and you feel sick, as though you can't get onto the stage... and then you do. And as you successfully perform, a wonderful feeling spreads through you, the knowledge that all those people are watching you and that for a short time, you're what's occupying over a hundred people's brain.
Thats the reason why I'll never be able to stop performing. You get the buzz, and you can't get rid of it.
Hmmm. Flowery. Strange.
Beforehand, of course, we have the awkwardness of sharing a chaging room with Paul. It's slightly disconcerting, to say the least. Me and Laura, who aren't really on in the first half, were in the changing rooms by ourselves, eating and whatever, and suddenly Paul just wandered out of the loo with no shirt on. It's BIZARRE. Surely there's laws against that kind of thing?
But yeah. The show isn't perfect. The cygnets look more like elephants, the acting's not brilliant (hell, I should know), Bitch-Charlotte-From-Another-Dance-School has been given two solos despite the fact we don't NEED them and she's interrupting mine and Helen's bow, I still can't shimmy... but it's ok.
I'll go and now, and eat a meal of some description. I'm not eating otherwise...
