Sep. 12th, 2003 05:34 pmApaarently, I am colour-blind and need an eye test. *blinks from behind glasses* Firstly, I know I have bad eyes, and there's not a chance in hell I'm blind. Stupid QuickScan test.
For those who don't know, the QuickScan test is used to pick up how you learn and to spot any problems so you can get the best marks possible. Now, in some ways, it's useful. Jess, as predicted, has tested dyslexic. She's suspected this for years, and now is actually going to get diagnosed. I am, apparently, an auditory/kinestetic learner. This means I read fast, I write fast, and I learn through listening and doing. Thought as much, frankly.
The eyesight thing is a bit of a joke. Lara in my history class, who's blind, found is hysterically funny that she tested 1. as a visual learner and 2. it advised her to go and get her eyes checked. I mean, really. (She did it again and apparently she's auditory instead)
Anyway. Generally good day. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I like college. I am Making Friends while keeping the old, I've worked out that sitting on the bottom of the bus prevents carsickness, I'm loving the lessons (they let me do lessons that I like! Wahey!) and it's all just generally fun. And we watched the end of LOTR at lunch today, meaning that I cried (again) but it was happy tears. Sort of. I knew that Boromir was gonna kick the bucket, but it makes me cry, and I'm just glad that my fandom still does that to me. Mind you, Meridian and Die Me, Dichtomoy still set me off, so...
And now it's the weekend. I fancy making a CD for college next week, I have to do some homework and I have to work in The Uniform, but apart from that... life is damned good at the moment.
Lets see how long this lasts, eh?

Date: 2003-09-12 07:06 pm (UTC)I think the best part was when they showed a music video celebrating the best bitys of Daniel to the song "What If?" by Kate Winslet. Everyone cried. So did Amanda and Michael. We all cried more. It was a lovely moment, and I still well up at the song. (Although its nicknamed the We Made Michael Cry song now!)
SG cons are fuuuuuun. But they mean I can't go to Collectermania. Words can't describe how jealous I am of you!

Date: 2003-09-12 07:19 pm (UTC)I could send you some of the episodes through the post, a few at a time. I fit about 8 on a video, so that could tide you over for a while. I have all but a few season 5/6 eppys... if you send them back,m you're welcome to them for a while.

Date: 2003-09-12 07:34 pm (UTC)Seriously, i would be forever indebted to you, you can have my first-born! Or chocolate, your choice.
We could probably trade through Liz, if you wanna save on postage, i'll see if she's willing to. But, are you serious?! I mean, of course i'd give them back when i'm finished, but i just...whoa, the idea of finally being able to see Stargate from the beginning is just incredible!

Date: 2003-09-12 08:44 pm (UTC)And don't worry, I'm having Miranda Otto's firstborn. (Science is moving quickly, I think) You're free to them- I can get them to you in chronological roder, although my season twos are scattered here, there and everywhere. Oh, and Children Of The Gods is on a seperate tape. Um. Yeah!
Sort it out with Liz, and we can go from there! (Ooooh, I feel all happy that I've done a fandomy thing today)

hocolate it is then! You have preferences? All i've seen is a few from the middle of Season 4, so i'm gonna have to start from the beginning, hehe, hope that's not a problem. I'll email Liz now and see if she'll play carrier. I'll probably be seeing her next weekend hopefully, but whenever's good for you is great for me! Don't mind me if i keep telling you how much i love you, you've just cheered me up so much!! =oD
