Hello all!

I'm at Andrew's house atm. Feel the pride. He's looking over my shoulder, but is eating a scrambled egg and sauage buttie. Euw. Red meat= icky. Hope some of you get my drift about the sauage thing, icky!

Actually, to be precise, he's running around swearing and screaming cos he's made it to hot. Men. Big girly wusses, the lot of them. Actually, now he's watching TV cos I'm being boring. His own fault. NEVER let me near an internet connection, it's not safe!

Well done Iona on the talk, btw!

Well, got to go...

I KNOW theres probably a better "I'm home" quote, but I can't think of any.

Random fact: if memory serves, Jack says that EXACT quote in The Fifth Race and Sam says it as the LAST EVER LINE in LOTR. Hence the fact I remember it. Coincidence! I think not! There's something else I can put in my ever-growing file of "stuff copied from LOTR whether intential or subconiously". It's a BIG file. Babylon Five is particulary guilty, with the Istar (Istari ala Gandalf) Za'hadum (Khazad-dum) with Rowling in second. Dementors (Nazgul!) Voldemort (Sauron!) and Bilbo even has a poem about "Dumbledors". Harrumph. But I like B5 and Harry Potter, so we'll call it coincidence.

My, that was random.

As you can tell, I'm bored again. To be precise, I'm putting off my history essay on Vietnam (it's too depressing. Was easy to write about womens' rights and whatnot, but give me ten minutes looking at the text for My Lai and Operation Rolling Thunder and I need a tissue) and practising my cello. [livejournal.com profile] loneraven agrees with me on this, I should have taken up the triangle. And I'll put good money on the fact I have more homework, but I'm repressing. I will look in my homework diary soon, but thats just cos it's plastered in photos and printouts and cut outs from magazines... purdy diary now though. Elves and SG teams and Joolusku Tunai Fenti Huris, oh my! Although I do get a lot of odd looks now, but this is inbetween the gangs of lower years clawing at me for a look whilst in choir. They call themselves Legolas fangirls but don't get the reference of my scrawling "Greenleaf 4 Elfstone!" and "Thranduilison 4 Elessar!" all over the diary too. Honestly. Year 7's. Wouldn't know fanfic if it bit them in the ass, either. (I was a fanfic writer at the tender age of 13! They have no excuse!)

Speaking of fic, I really need to start writing again. Something. Anything. Okay, The Project (Otherwise known as Between Worlds, out this summer, exclusively first to Hathor's Empire ) has about a page written a night (hand written, being slowly typed up. So far, about 300 hand written pages, and I'm not nearly finished, eeep) but I think the problem is it's written in first person. Therefore, I have been living in this characters head for nearly a year. Everything she feels, I have to force myself to somehow imagine so as to write from her viewpoint. Harper Lee makes it look easy, and I can always manage it for my short fluffy pieces...

It's fecking hard. YOU try having a big long story with a fair few characters from one character's head. It's an artform, I tell you. I never knew how much I relied on seeing the "thoughts" of characters other than my central one. I'm sure it will help my overall writing, but it's completely cramped my style. I WANT to write, but I can't. No ideas, no muse, nothing, nyada. So, I've gone from someone who could easily write a shortish fic in a week and a longish one in a month to a grand total of 6 REALLY short fics in 7 months. I feel ashamed.

Dad is glaring at me. He wants to play Tomb Raider. I don't even WANT to know where this sudden obsession with Tomb Raider has come from, but I'm blaming mid-life crisis. So, I suppose I'd better go and stop boring you with my randomness.

Namarie! ~Hathy_Col~
