Apr. 8th, 2003 07:42 pmI am SUPPOSED to be writing a group post with MY group, The House of Elrond. (well. I mod, anyway) But nooooooo I can't get into MSN, so I can't post. Poor Leggy. Poor Haldir. We're in Lothlorien, it's their big moment, but NO. Typical!

Could have died today. Firstly, I need to describe the importance of the cello. It has four strings- an A-string, a D-string, a C-string and a G-string. Yes. It is called the G-string. When you've been playing a string instrument for a while, you begin to refer the the strings quite normally, and most other string players understand. So, whilst playing "Pachabels Canon", my G was knocked slightly, and became out of a tune. Whilst playing as the crux of the piece (it's the only one I get any glory on. Sigh) this was a bad thing. Asked Hayley if my G-string sounded out of tune to her, and as a violin player, she listened and went "oh, yeah. It is." So after the piece, out of sheer habit, threw my hand up in the air and asked in Sir could please come and tune in my G-string.
Full orchestra of none string players burst into hysterics, and as I realised what I'd said, I went repidly VERY red and instictively hugged myself ala Danny-boy before loudly yelling to orchestra "CELLO, PEOPLE! CELLO!" and then tried to hide under my seat.
Mr Taylor did not help, as when he came to tune it in, just went "Can we quote you on that? We're looking for something to say on the concert tomorrow about our leavers..." Hayley was actually lying on the floor laughing, the Year 7s didn't understand, and I could actually feel the heat coming off my body.
I think I'll dye my hair and chnage my name and move to Azerbaijan. Maybe then they won't find me...
Could have been worse. I have images of asking "Sir, could you come and sort out my G-string?" ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH I think I would have died there on the spot!
