Sadness

Sad day today.

Day began with Easter assembly. These are normally as boring as hell, and consists of little Year 7s playing out the Last Supper, the death issue neatly avoided and then a rousing hymn. And a stupifying speech by Mr Entwhistle.

I should probably point out now that I do actually believe in the existance of Jesus as a historical figure- I just don't believe that he was the Son of God. *shrugs* Nor do I agree with any form of organised religion. It's my personal opinion, I realise people will have others. I have reasons why, but I don't want to go into them here. But this was the assembly...

Yay new RE teacher. I felt marginally religious after what was not an assembly, was a freaking traumatic experience, which reminded me of a LOT of whumping fics. (I spend too long on the Internet) It was sorta from the perspective of all the people who watched the Cruxifiction take place, or had a part in it- so it was Pontius Pilate (Roman governer who ordered the execution), Joseph of Arimathea (member of the Jewish council that demanded his death, but later went on to place the body of Jesus in the tomb), Simon of Cyrene (he carried at the Cross as the first time Jesus fell) and so on. And it had all these little details, like "And he said with a little sigh: 'I had a friend called Simon...'" which made it scarily... well. Whumpy, to be honest.

THEN they showed a video of the actual walk to Golgotha (trans: The Place of Skulls. Also called Calvary. Place where Cruxifiction took place), from one of those American Christian thingies of the life of Jesus. You know the type. (Sean Bean's in one! Random fact. Not the one I saw though. Shame.) Although I was having terrible Life of Brain flashbacks (they filmed it in the same place, I SWEAR) it all got over shadowed by the, frankly enough, traumatising images of actual Cruxifiction taking place.

It's my repressed Catholic coming out to bite me, I swear. Whilst it still hasn't actually made me religious, because nothing short of a voice from heaven and a big sign saying "HI! I'M GOD! I EXIST!" could do that, it still really affected me. I can't describe it. It was... graphic. Thats the best description. All Mellon Chroniclers- Imagine watching The Stars Of Harad take place. Jackficcers- For God and Country by Doc. It was... ugh.

So, while we all suitibly traumatised, we where then all told that Michael Rigby's Dad had died. I mean, holy crap.

The rest fo the day was kinda nostalgic. I'm leaving school soon. I'm in denial, completely and utterly. So... it was a sad, subdued day. Left me feeling a bit uncomfortable and thoughtful, about a lot of stuff.

And now I'm going to Guides. Goody. Namarie! ~Hathy_Col~
