Nov. 14th, 2003 01:03 pmOnce more, am in college. I'd also like to point out that I spent a total of twelve hours in college yesterday.
Because I have some time to kill (Guidance finished early and frankly, I have nothing better to do) I fancy babbling away in this LJ.
Last night was Open Evening, although it seems to have been the case for most schools/colleges in this area, which was, frankly, a bad idea. I remember this time of year, and I can't believe it was a whole year ago. I spent a hectic four weeks rushing around and finding various colleges (have you ever tried driving to Leyland to see Runshaw College in the dark? Not fun) and they all seemed to take place in the same week. Yeesh. But yesterday, I got to be the bossy student helper!
This has downsides. Mum refused to take my back to college, and as such I stayed in college with Jess, not including our brief excursion to Alan And Gwen's Chippery, which has it's entire name written down because they are nice, nice chips. We then spent about an hour wandering around looking for a teacher to talk to, as well as some help in the happy land that is Media Studies. It's not really that safe allowing me to play with electrical equipment, but I wasn't telling the technician that.
Eventually found Elaine from Politics, and I turned into Cheerful!Shop!Girl mode. I'm not safe. "Hiya! Are you looking for law, politics or sociology?"
They all seemed to be looking for Law, although I did have a couple of people who actually wanted to know about politics. I really enjoyed getting passionate about it, but it's a shame that he didn't need/want any help for history- he didn't have anyone on my Open Evening, either.
Although had an entertaining hour at English in which I babbled about Combined and Literature, of all things. I lied. A lot. There are going to be some very confused students in the next year. "But the girl at Open Evening didn't say that!"
Anyway, this is gacked from

Going out tonight, although do need to check e-mail. Have Guides first, then I'm toddling down to the Comrades to see (hopefully) Katie and Simon. Woohoo!
And now I'm going to go and get some lunch.
