Nov. 15th, 2003 06:59 pmWell. Yesterday after I left you was odd. Somewhere in the middle of my LJ post, it started belting it down with rain and just didn't stop. All frelling day. I like rain, and I like the wind, but I like experiencing them in suitable clothing, which I do not define as a loose sweater thing, t-shirt and denim jacket. At least I had my walking boots on. But no umbrella. *wails* And, even more typically, my Media Stuides room involves me walking across the Quad and back agaon. Yeeeeesh.
The bus was nice though. Despite opinion to the contrary, I rather like the bus at times. Mornings suck- everyone's tired, it's too hot, it's too cold, no one want to be there, there's no space once we're into Skem. But the afternoon bus, especially downstairs on a Friday, is good. Presuming no one upstairs gets any funny ideas, it's cosy. There's less people, since people go home at lunch, and most people seem to have desrted us by the long stretch out of East Gillibrands and Upholland. And today, it was all cold and rainy, and the windows steamed up, and both Jess and Day weren't in so I could curl up on a seat and just listen to the people talk. Other people were falling asleep, it was cheerful, and I quite liked it. I also had the chance to plan out a fic bunny that popped into my head in Media Studies, and I've missed the all consuming contentment of drifting away from the world and planning out entire conversations and scenes in my head.
Then I had to get off the bus, which thoroughly woke me up as I tramped though the rain to go home. Yuck.
Got home, showered, got dressed, went out to Guides looking rather glamourous and realised that I had to talk to Emmalyn about Rangers. Sincerely hope that she does not have Standards for me to maintain, since it's a rare thing that I wear make-up.
Wandered out about half way through, again in a driving rain (curse my skanky top!) to the Comrades, where I had to face a barrage of questions about getting in. "I swear, a friend got me the ticket!" "Is this true?" "Ask him! Or her! Or about fourteen people in here who saw me give my money to him on the bus this afternoon!"
And then it suddenly turned into the Big St Bedes Reunion Party Whether You Like It Or Not.
Katie was there! We hugged and shrieked and promised to meet up. God, I miss her.
Hayley was there! We sang the Pokemon theme tune (a band played it, resulting in us all shouing "Pikachu!" for the night) and babbled about orchestra and chickens.
Chris was there! Egads, he's alive!
Louise was there! Ditto!
Shehanie was there! God, she's changed.
And on, and on. The bands were a bit crap, but that was okay... it was a good night.
And then I came home, and was bouncy all night despite the fact I didn't drink once. So there we are.
Homebase was much less fun today, and the less said about it the better. I need a new job, but who'll hire me? Oh well.
And now I'm home, I've beta-ed the new chapter of Kasey's fic, and I plan to continue with the silly plot bunny I started last night. I like silly fic. Who doesn't?
I'm also having silly conversations with Simon, who I suspct hasn't slept for the last three days.
( Buttercup syrup! )
( Do wop do wop! )
Ah, life. For once, I have no plans for tomorrow. I'm quite looking forward to it.
Welcome back

P.S
spiderdragon, are you listening to the same music as me again? And yes- the Zep do indeed rock.
