Dec. 7th, 2003 03:05 pmRight now I should be doing my history essay. In my defence, I have actually finished 'The Years Of Drift' and I'm now onto the last third, 168-25. However, I'm not going to get it done in the next hour and I feel I should just accept this. It's not fair. I love history, I really do, and I don't mind essays, it's just that this one has proved to be a complete mental block. I seem to have lost any talent I once had for making judgements and what not, and now I'm cowering behind facts.
I did the same for GCSE history though, but that turned out okay in the end, no matter how distressing My Lai was to read up about. I'll just spend an hour chilling out. Or half an hour, since I just spent the last half hour watching The Osbournes with my Mum and feeling very sorry for poor Ozzy. Bless.
Have already done Stuff today. Megan went out to a friend's last night, and rolled in the door at the exact same time as I was staggering down the stairs for a shower. Megan yelped. So did I. Her friend averted her gaze. It was traumatic for all involved, frankly enough.
After a shower and whatnot, I went out to Ormskirk in a vain attempt to do some more Christmas shopping. I'm a terrible, awful shopper. I really am. In my defence, I buy nice things, but it's rare that they're personalised in any way or form. From me, people recieve nice candles, or toiletries, or chocolate. Nice stuff. Not personal. So... anyone reading this... Merry Christmas. Etc. Don't feel hurt if I buy you toiletries. I'm a crap shopper.
I did buy Christmas cards, though. Would YOU like a Christmas card? Do you live somewhere that isn't easily accessible for me to pass the card on?
Then please e-mail me, since I don't have a paid account and can't do a poll. E-mail me at hathor_sgc@hotmail etc. You'd be doing me such a big favour...
When I came home, I did something terrible that I swore I'd never do.
I watched Miss World.
It was car crash TV, I swear. I sat through the whole fashion section, marvelling at how they were that thin and not dead, before eventually tearing myself away. Miss Ireland won, apparently. Chris De Burgh's daughter, too. Hmmm.
Anyway. Now I'm cold, and have to do that essay. Damn.
Don't forget! E-mail me and/or comment for cards!
