The Dangermouse theme tune is on the radio. I love Dangermouse. It gets funnier as you get older, it really does. It's genius. Better than Sponegebob, even...

Yeah, I'm still a big kid at heart.

So, went to Emmeline's last night. Apart from some brief confusion ("20... 22... eh? Where's 21?") it was... bearable. I have three years to do a lot, and it's somewhat scary, but I think I can do it. It would appear that I'm nabbing Lara for a significant portion of it, and vice versa. So there we go.

I had a glorious lie-in today. There's something fabulous about sleeping for ten hours, waking up, looking at the clock, rolling over and sleeping for another two hours. When I did wake up, I've done a small cleaning job on the kitchen, ordered the MP3 player (oh, god, I'm so skint now, how the fuck am I going to pay for all the stuff that's coming up? Ah well, it's an MP3 player, it's cheap, it's blue, and it's coming tomorrow or Saturday. Hopefully tomorrow; I'll need to sign for it) and sorted out various OL stuff, as well as putting forward thoughts on the whole 'shieldmaiden' thing. There's something that makes me uneasy about there being a whole host of them (Sue Alert! Sue Alert!) but the idea that there's more than one is... logical.

Anyway. I actually have nothing to do now. I was contemplating a trip to the library to make a start on my reading list, but it's chucking it down and I'm lazy.

So, I had a dig around on the internet to try and find Robert Rankin fanfiction. What did I find? An OSA forum post. From me.

*facepalm*

Why is the Rankin fandom so... small? It's been around since 1989 (apparently), there's a fanclub, there's conventions (in Brentford, too) and yet there's a distinct lack of... well... sizeable fandom. I think I've been spoiled by LOTR and HP.

Being bored out of my gourd, I've been on a wander through the Stargate archives for something Very Long to read. I vaguely remember a fic being so long that was over 700K and by someone who's writer name began with E. Had vague S/D mentions in it, and Dionysus was in it.

One google search later, and I have found The Wine Of Dionysus by ELG. So there's something to do for the next few hours.

(Oh, and can I just officially make it known that I really don't like Heliopolis any more? Fandom bitch that I am, I really preferred the old layout and whatnot. You know, when it was German. *grins*)

So, does anyone have any recommendations for fic for me? I'm taking it from the following fandoms: Harry Potter, Lord Of The Rings, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Van Helsing, Stargate, Farscape, Discworld, Battlestar Galactica, X-Men, Dead Like Me, Earthsea, Rankin and Anne Rice. It need not be said that I am not particular over my fandoms.
