The Dangermouse theme tune is on the radio. I love Dangermouse. It gets funnier as you get older, it really does. It's genius. Better than Sponegebob, even...

Yeah, I'm still a big kid at heart.

So, went to Emmeline's last night. Apart from some brief confusion ("20... 22... eh? Where's 21?") it was... bearable. I have three years to do a lot, and it's somewhat scary, but I think I can do it. It would appear that I'm nabbing Lara for a significant portion of it, and vice versa. So there we go.

I had a glorious lie-in today. There's something fabulous about sleeping for ten hours, waking up, looking at the clock, rolling over and sleeping for another two hours. When I did wake up, I've done a small cleaning job on the kitchen, ordered the MP3 player (oh, god, I'm so skint now, how the fuck am I going to pay for all the stuff that's coming up? Ah well, it's an MP3 player, it's cheap, it's blue, and it's coming tomorrow or Saturday. Hopefully tomorrow; I'll need to sign for it) and sorted out various OL stuff, as well as putting forward thoughts on the whole 'shieldmaiden' thing. There's something that makes me uneasy about there being a whole host of them (Sue Alert! Sue Alert!) but the idea that there's more than one is... logical.

Anyway. I actually have nothing to do now. I was contemplating a trip to the library to make a start on my reading list, but it's chucking it down and I'm lazy.

twisted
You have a twisted soul! Twisted Souls are never
bad, and actually, are a rarity amongst souls.
These souls are a little combination of
everything, with always a little of their own
chaos to add. Twisted Souls are kind, loving,
weird, zany, temperamental, and very talented.
They have their own firm opinion, and can at
one time be very outspoken and passionate, and
the other time shy and feeling insignificant.
Twisted Souls have good senses of Humor and
other times can be a bore. You can act quite
intelligent at one time, and grasp concepts
easily, while other times they can find it
difficult to understand. Twisted Souls are
always very fun and Kind, and can be party
animals. But, if you love someone, youre
serious about it, intense, and forever loyal.
Congratulations-the world should have more like
you.

Okay...

So, I had a dig around on the internet to try and find Robert Rankin fanfiction. What did I find? An OSA forum post. From me.

*facepalm*

Why is the Rankin fandom so... small? It's been around since 1989 (apparently), there's a fanclub, there's conventions (in Brentford, too) and yet there's a distinct lack of... well... sizeable fandom. I think I've been spoiled by LOTR and HP.

Robert Rankin doth rock. ROCK I tell you. He's just... so odd that it's underappreciated.

He called his main character in his short story Billy Bone.

Fair enough...?

Hell, one of his best everselling novels was called "The Chocolate Hollow Bunnies Of The Apocolypse." Robert Rankin is odd and wonderfully so.

(If you have time, go and get the books out of the library! Go! Now! Chocolate Hollow Bunnies is there at the moment!)

Wigan area finishes on Friday. My teachers can't be arsed teaching us, and some of the more progressive ones have just cancelled lessons. So.. I finished yesterday.

Wahey!

The MP3 player was £45. I have no doubt that it's fallen off the back of a lorry, but there we are.

Well, yeah. Can't remember all the specs off the top of my head, but it's 36 hours playback time and about 10 CDs storage space.

Neat for £45. Unless it's doomed to break.

Well, that's what I keep on thinking. Still, it all looks legit, and a friend of mine has given it glowing recommendations. Shall have to see...

Dangermouse is cool.

And if you have to be spoiled by something, spoiled by elves sounds real good. :D

I loooove Dangermouse. The comedy DOES just get better as you get older. I saw the episode on boomerang last night - seen it before, but like that makes a difference! Its just so BRITISH! :)
