hathycol: (sword? [m15m])
So, I’ve been AWOL for a few days. Erm… sorry?

Friday was a Good Day. I chirped to Emmy’s fairly early so I could get the lift, and showed off the piercing. Rebekah’s first statement was “Dude, do you know what tongue piercings are good for?” This is why I am growing to quite like my Rangers. We chopped at brambles all day, and I was even given a lift to Southport. A quick nip into Boots for body spray and MacDonalds for changing later, I even felt human, if you ignored the ugly gashes in my arms and legs from some particularly vicious brambles. And off I went to see King Arthur! A lot of people seemed to dislike it, but I really enjoyed it. Mainly because OMG GAWAIN AND GALAHAD ARE SO DOING IT. Will write a proper review when I go to see it again with [livejournal.com profile] hammer_strike who is home and I am very much looking forward to seeing again. Anyway.

Home I toddled, and saw the other twin (Rebekah’s sister) on the bus. Small world. Turns out she not only lives down the road, she lives in the DROP DEAD GORGEOUS house that I’ve liked since we moved in here eight years ago. Colour me jealous. Why does everyone I know seem to live in a house that’s nicer than mine? Mum likes this house, but that’s because it’s all twee and suburban. How dull. Anyway, Michelle has been kicked out of the BB house (and it’s about time) and I did yet more frantic cleaning.

Saturday was not a good day, I’ve decided. I pulled myself out of bed nice and early, then wandered around blearily, left the house with a binbag full of alcohol bottles and stumped off towards Ormskirk and the bus. Appalling day at work. The longest shift I’ve ever worked (okay, eight hours. Piss off, I’m lazy) wasn’t helped by the hottest day of the year so far. The place is a big greenhouse, and it worked out to being about 35C inside. This is a Bad Thing, especially when it was my first day back. There was two of us working the same shift, so we clung to each other for dear life for most of it. We even went a little crazy and quite seriously contemplated playing badminton over the tills for the boring last hour or too. We didn’t, but only because the Duty Manager was in a bad mood. Worst part of the day was being made to use the phone. Firstly, it’s not my job, and secondly I’m RUBBISH at talking on the phone. Bitch put the phone down on me twice, all because I was trying to verify a cheque. The last bloke I had was nice though – verbally hugged me and said that I sounded like I needed to go home. I nearly broke down in tears when a customer I’d had a few minutes before came up to Customer Services to complain about a mistake I’d made whilstI was standing there. She was very sympathetic and not angry at all, but I’ve decided I hate my job. I need to really start pushing for a transfer to replenishment. Slightly less money but much less customers. Hoo and indeed rah!

I came out to see Dad sitting there in the car. His first words: “Where’s the wine gone?”

Sigh.

Yes, the parents are back and suitably squicked by the piercing. This made me laugh, especially since it actually does look a little manky, as I’d been talking all day and made it swell up again. Ugh. They came bearing presents. A sword, to be precise. It’s wooden and is inscribed with “Sherwood Forest” but it made me laugh. A lot. I like having someone to talk to again, but I did prefer independence. Actually, I preferred having a choice on the telly. Now Mum and Megan have thoroughly taken over again, and Dad is in the garden. I can hear Megan having an argument with Mum. This makes me sad; I just wish Megan would go away. Please. Don’t mind the family, but really do resent the sister. She always creates bloody problems. They just stopp,ed and now she’s started it up again. Well, at least I move out soon. That’s my safety net and I’m keeping grim hold of it.

All this said, I’ve agreed to go out with Dad and Megan on Wednesday. No doubt she will dominate conversation in the car. It’s to come weird climbing thing; they did it on holiday and are now being All Keen. Good thing training got changed to Tuesday, really.

I think I need to go and get something to eat and finish off Night Watch in the garden. I have devoured that book in a day. I love Pratchett, you always find something new in his writing!
