(no subject)

As you all will probably know, I have an unhealthy obsession with Dracula from Van Helsing, despite quite disliking the film as a whole. I am even on a few fan communities for TEH SEX sorry, Dracula. ButI have yet to find any decent fic. It's all APPALLING. You have your Mary-Sues in droves, and just... it's all so badly written.

Last night, I couldn't sleep very well. I went to bed very early, but kept on waking up and eventually rolled out of bed at 9.30am. Various images stuck with me, however, and one of them was A Dream. It involved Dracula, and it's something of a recurring dream. Now, because I am bored, because my muse is in ICU for Imedhuir and on a fag break for the S/R stuff, I am going to actually make an effort to sit down and spend the day writing VH fic. I do not know what the outcome will be. I do know that I have the compeeh to myself all day, however. And frankly, I know I can write better than some of the current VH writers out there.

Wish me luck! I think I'll have some food first so I can think up something approaching a plot. I think I might actually be having an intellectual challenge...

Several problems have arisen.

1. This is not going to get finished today, but I need to finish this and get the fic purged from my system.
2. My fellow Dracuporn admirer does not have her computer. WAAAAH. Come back flickerswitch!
3. Erm... sorry, what year does the film actually take place? How else can I be historically accurate?
4. Yes, you can be historically accurate.
5. It's impossible to write a fic about vampires and women based in the 1800s without including the phrase "heaving busoms." Several times it's crept in and once it stayed there for thrity minutes until I hit it with a brick and it went away.
6. The age old Buffy problem: just how can vampires have sex, anyway?
7. Anyone know any Hungarian last names? Found a first one (Erika) but I'm a bit lost now.

Neeeeeargh.

That said, I'm enjoying this fic. It's thoroughly self-indulgent and I realise has one or two Mary-Sue qualities. Trust me when I say they will be eradicated towards the end. It's nice having to use my brain.
