Mar. 12th, 2010 07:08 pmMy aunt had a second heart attack today. She has been moved to Wolverhampton for a specialist operation to sort out the blocked valve.
Not really much to say on that one, other than that... it exists. It is not entirely self-inflicted to be fair; terrible, terrible family history of heart problems but combined with the fact that she is diabetic, doesn't exercise and eats nothing but crap then it's a miracle she has lasted until 47 as it is. This is not sizeist; you can be large and healthy, but you cannot be morbidly obese with diabetes and high blood pressure and take no exercise, eat high-fat and eat high-sugar food and basically march yourself into your own grave.
It's her decision, of course, to eat this way and to basically kill herself, but I don't think my grandad can handle losing another daughter.
I'm going to the pub.
(My mum is 46 in two weeks.)
