I always feel like a bit of a fraud, posting fic recs. This is because they all tend to be stuff everyone read already, and probably last year. However, I have been living and breathing Avengers fic for MONTHS now, and I want to share some of it.

Some things you need to know about me and Avengers fic:

1. I LOVE DARCY LIKE PIE. Yes, there are a lot of Darcy fics that are a bit samey, but whatever, I think she's ace.

2. Thor is my favourite. This is a crying shame, as there is surprisingly little Thor fic.

3. Linked to point 2 is that most of the Thor fic is either Loki-centic (which, you know, fine but I can take or leave him) or worse Loki/Thor. Sorry, cannot and will not do.

4. Other ships I simply can't handle are Tony/Anyone But Pepper Or Steve (I really do love Pepper); Thor/Anyone But Jane; anything slightly incesty.

5. Finally, most of these are long and plotty. They're in not particular order - I've vaguely tried to group them - and all links are to A03.

I'm Gonna Be A Part Of It (whether I want to or not. Bruce/Darcy. Oh, god, I love this fic like pie. Darcy goes to New York, moves up the admin ladder, gets her degree, cooks and generally kicks ass.

She Blinded Me With Political Science. Bruce/Darcy. The Avengers do, in fact, have a PR problem. It's an interesting take on what would, logically, be a real problem. Also yay Darcy.

Rule Number Nine. Steve/Darcy. As friends with benefits. This shouldn't work, but it's a lovely fic.

Just Another Guy With A Bow. Clint/Natasha, Clint/Phil. There are a fair few long plotty fics explaining how Clint ended up in SHIELD, but I like this one the best - not for the Clint stuff, although that's good too. This is my favourite Natasha fic by a long shot. It's a beautiful interpretation of her.

Hollow Your Bone's Like A Bird. Clint/Phil. Now, we all know about Toasterverse (and if you don't, there are sentient toasters and flying Roombas and it's genuinely awesome) but this is my favourite story of the lot. Also can be read without prior knowledge of the series.

Freezer Burn. This fic is the best part of 200k and not a single word is wasted. Steve Rogers, HYDRA, 20 different kinds of lettuce. I can't recommend it enough. I've yet to read the sequel as it's just been finished and I'm looking forward to settling down with it this afternoon.

Exclusive. Another take on the whole Avengers PR problem. It's a really lovely piece, with a great twist at the end.

Captain Fraudulent. Again, the PR problem. Another take, with a very different layout and a real sense of theme throughout the whole thing. Plus I just found out there's a load of outtakes now attached to it, yay!

A psychologist would probably have a field day with this. Ah well. Also, if anyone has anything they think I've missed out then obviously let me know! It should be said I've read A LOT of great fic that I haven't put on this list, but a lot of this stuff has been whizzing around my head for a while and I wanted to share.

The Act of Creation Will Be Your Salvation. Steve/Tony. Just remembered to add this one in - it's a story of Tony, via Jarvis and Dummy. It's magnificent. I am now really emotionally invested in robots.
