Sweet mother of Jesus.

That was my initial reaction, anyway. And now I shall leave you all with spoilers behind a space.

As my younger sister put it:

"Ha! You cried! For fifteen minutes!"

And I'm not joking. Not entirely sure why, perhaps just out of the whole "It's OVER! NO!" type thing, I was crying from pretty much the Ring being cast into the fire and then I just didn't stop. On the plus side, I know for a fact I wasn't the only one.

So, the film as a whole... well, I loved it. Let's get the gripes out of the way: they're fairly small and are only for elitist, snobby book fans such as myself.

1. Eowyn and the ruination of her character AGAIN. WHY make her so nice? WHY make her afraid?

2. The lack of Eomer (he had so few lines!) and Saruman. 'Nuff said.

3. The fact that I was in a cinema that insited on laughing at everything Gollum did *twitch*. I hated that. So did Dad.

4. Celeborn. Doesn't. Leave. With. Galadriel. He took the later ship with Legolas!

5. Elrond! NOOOO!

6. There was a large chunk missing in the middle, which I felt was a shame. Bring on the EE!

That's all that comes to mind. Now, here's what I loved...

Shelobs lair. Gah. Spiders. So scary.

Grey Havens. Lookit! Pretty!

Minas Tirith and the Pelennor Fields. Dude, they even got in the ideas of seperate citadels, the idea that the first circle starts round about Osgiliath, the battle was one of the best things I've ever seen and horsies! Yay! (That was random. I admit this.)

Paths Of The Dead. I wanted to see these ever since I read about them. And so GOOD! Even Pukelmen! Huzzah! Alas no Ghan-buri-ghan, but there we are.

Legolas. Because he's fit, because he does look like a girl and because he was wearing The Shirt and because he had good interaction with Gimli who also rocked once more. "Certain death. Slim chance of success. What are we waiting for?"

Arwen. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Arwen. I liked her for the first time. I cried, too.

Anduril because it's about bloody time.

Random Elf Spotting. I make it my personal mission in life to spot the twins. Now, at first I thought at least one of them was the elf talking to Arwen, but then I realised that he was too formal, therefore I suspect Erestor. Glorfindel was standing behind Arwen in the wedding gown. (I think.) Elladan and Elrohir were making the sword. I think. A good turn out.

Minas Morgul because did you SEE those effects?

Eowyn. Hated her characterisation, but on the other hand they actually had her in The Dress, made me into a drooling puddle of goo doing so, and also had one hell of a fight with the Witch-King. No man am I!

Gollum. Despite the irritating people in the cinema laughing at everything he said, he was again spectacular.

The ending because, as said before, I cried like a girl solidly for about fifteen minutes. Do you blame me?

So, [livejournal.com profile] flickerswitch and [livejournal.com profile] mettanna, what did you think?

Yeah, I came back from the cinema an hour ago and I'm still on a high. Am I that obvious?

It was just... so... wow.

I was sobbing/convulsing/wailing/quietly drowning in my own tears for about an hour. And this is me who wasn't excited?! I have no coherent thoughts whatsoever, need to see it again! Totally know what you mean about the people who snigger at Gollum, that really pisses me off. Weirdly enough, i also found myself liking Arwen for the first time too, i just...couldn't not like her anymore.
I'm sorry, that's as understandable as i'm going to get for a while.

PS - I was a very naughty girl and opened your Christmas present (i have a good reason, honest) THANK YOU SO MUCH! It's the most prettyful thing i have ever seen and i love it so much and i love you so much and life is so good right now. "Pip, you smoke too much."

Thank you!! ^__^
