Jan. 5th, 2004 12:06 pmAren't you glad? It's the return of the "am at college, am bored!" posts!
Yes, I am indeed at college. Last night I didn't actually do much, and actually spent a fairly entertaining few hours writing, and also watching Evolution Parts 1 and 2.
Niiiiice. Snarky!Daniel 'Go...', Tortured!Daniel etc. Interesting plot re. Honduras, but I felt it was a little unnecessary... and what happened to the Fountain of Youth, anyway?
The 'Super Soldiers' were a horrible, scary mix of Uruk-hai (someone got inspired, it's like The Warrior and The Matrix all over again), Darth Vader, the Scarran and Borg. Gave me the shivers. Didn't like them one bit.
I can't think of anything more. I'm an idiot.
I then just generically vegged, as I do so well. To be precise, I watched some of the extras on TTT:EE. They rocked, sayeth me. I enjoyed the look at how they changed the book to a script, despite a lot of defensive "it's for a reason! Look! It could have been worse! Arwen could have been at Helm's Deep!" I managed to get up to Warriors Of The Third Age, which was good and should be shown to all Mary-Sue authors as to WHY you don't just pick up a sword and go for it.
It was, by this point, getting on for midnight, and I was still wide-awake. So, I tried to turn off my lights and go to sleep. This failed.
Two hours later, I had just put down my pen. Normally writing at nightr sends me off to sleep. But no. I spent about an hour just working out why and how Mirkwood would feast, and also the reasons as to why they would do such a thing. And the ceremonies within. Curse the differences between Elven races! HOW do you include Sindarin and Avari and do it believably?
Eventually, though, I dropped off to sleep and woke up with the horrible feeling that I was going to die. Ugh, ugh, ugh. I managed to race around the house and get everything done in twenty minutes.
And now, as predicted, I'm back in college. I don't mind, I just wish that I was able to just scive General Studies and be done with it. On the plus side, though, it's good to see everyone again. Lara seems to have filed a formal complaints against Chris Macgee, to which I say: about bloody time! Lara is blind. Trust me when I say that you barely notice this. However, she still occasionally needs a hand, and Macgee 'helps'. By this, he leads her to places she doesn't need to go. He has, before now, pelted her with stones and she flipped, finally, when he came up behind her, flipped the stick away, grabbed her wrists and said "Ha! You can't get away now!"
He's mental, and now he's got a behavioural contract. Ha!
And now I must go, before I'm late for politics.
