Squeeness!

*jumps like Silly Person*

So, I think I should explain my absolute joy, really. Firstly, I'll refer you to the really whingey post I did on Friday, whinging about not getting the chance to try for the politics team.

HaHA! On Monday, I had a politics lesson. Elaine nabbed me to tell me that I could do my speech that lunchtime. I panicked. Lack of actual speech and practice was the first thought. However, she had the speech and then I did the speech.

I did it rather well, for me. I made an effort to actually, y'know, do it properly. I speaktoquickly. All the time. I get excited, or I'm reading, and it all comes out in one great garble that no one can understand unless they're me. On the other hand, I have Very Good diction when the mood takes me. I still don't know where my accent hails from, but when I'm Reading Out Loud I suddenly put all my h's back where they belong and don't pronounce 'Monday' as 'Mondee'. So, I made an effort. I pronounced things. I read slowly. (To me it seemed too slow, but there we are.) And she seemd genuinely impressed, asked me a few question, and then said that she would recommend me to Hugh. Oh, and that we'd get an email before four o clock.

This took a fair bit of calculation for me, but we had a coursework lesson for English. This meant that I could run up and check my e-mail obsessively. Susie did the same. Neither of us recieved e-mail.

Alas.

So, I went home on the bus. And there was Andrew! Shouted a lot, squeed, hugged, and ended up dragging him home. Love Andrew. Missed Andrew. So it was a fun night, and then I went to Rangers. Lara had not had an email, either. So I went home, with plans to actually learn my speech for RADA. I learnt the first six lines. Our resident drama/literature bunny, [livejournal.com profile] purplerainbow would be shocked at my mangling of Shakespare, but there we are. Only four lines to learn tonight, then I have to prance around and perform the damn thing tomorrow. Such is life.

I woke up, and I went to college. Still no e-mail. Abandoned all hope, but had spent so long setting myself up for a fall that it didn't really matter. Lessons came, lessons went and I went to politics. After a brief debate whilst Elaine wasn't there - Amy And Me (Fees Are Bad) versus James Dale The Traitourous Bastard. I remember talking to him about Labour policies when we were fourteen! Anyway, Elaine comes rushing (as she always does), points at Carla, Louise, Susie and myself. "You're all on the team!"

Four confused blinks combined with four stupidly big grins. Apparently, the e-mail system in college is fucked up and won't send anything to anyone at the moment. So, I will be spending the next couple of weeks learning how to debate. And then I will go to Westminister (actual Westminister! Actual politicians! Or it would be if it wasn't on a Friday. Politicians buggar off home on a Wednesday. Alas) and I will do aforemention debate.

So. Me, Susie, Louise and Lara (yeah, Lara was chosen too) will be taking on London. Dude, I can't wait.

Anyway. I have a Key Skills exam tomorrow. Didn't know about it until today. Was shocked. Probably won't fail. It's multiple choice, with questions like: "Is this text a. left alligned b. right alligned c. centre alligned d. justified?" I think I can cope.

Hurrah!
