Jan. 21st, 2004 07:54 pmPhew. Am still alive. Liz and I went to Claudine and grovelled rather pathetically. We are stil alive and free of roasting, which I think is a Good Thing.
Ending up going to see Run Lola Run at lunchtime, and suddenly get what people say about 'detache!' (Or however it's written.) It was quite good, actually. I like her hair, I really do. Wouldn't suit me, but such is life.
Haven't really done much, today. Went to college, came home. And now I'm here. Haven't even watched Chimera yet. I could do a review of last night's Angel, but I was filled with such scorn that I won't. Gah. Severely dislike Spike, and I had to sit there whilst my sister and worse, mother, twittered over how bloody wonderful he was. Gah. Once again, Lorne provided the best line of the whole thing:
"Two vampires with a soul, fighting for a love of one Slayer. I could get any sutido to buy that! I'm seeing Depp and Bloom. But I see them a lot."
And the spoons were a nice touch. But apart from that, it was dire because I Don't Like Spike and because it was just... yeah. It's like Buffy Season Four all over again. I wish they'd just... I don't know. Blow up Wolfram and Hart and get back to the Hyperion. I hope this series gets better soon. And oh god, there's even a episode called 'Deux Ex Machina' in there. Christ. Why not just rename it "Charles Gunn" and be done with it?
I think I'll go upstairs and sew now. Yes, sew. Last night I was grabbed with the mood to do so, and I dug out all the old patches I needed to add on. I had the following:
1. 'He lives in a pineapple under the sea...' Yeah, Spongebob.
2. A Ravenclaw. Found it at SG6 and thought 'yay!' You can normally only find Gryffindor ones, and my view on that is along the lines of 'brave, but stupid'.
3. SG1 badge.
4. Coloured SG badge.
I will have a thoroughly geeky college bag soon. Huzzah!
Lastly, I found this and it amused me. All with Capital Letters are the ones I added.
'Seven!' cried Gimli. He hewed a two-handed stroke and laid the last Orc before his Leg. 'Now my count passes Lady Legolas again.'
'We must stop this Badger-hole,' said Legolas. 'Dwarves are said to be cunning folk with Brick. Lend us your aid, master!'
'We do not shape Brick with Tweezers, nor with our finger-nails,' said Gimli. 'But I will help as I may.'
They gathered such Big Items and broken Bricks as they could find to hand, and under Gimli's direction the Westfold-men blocked up the inner end of the culvert, until only a narrow outlet remained. Then the Deeping-stream, swollen by the rain, churned and fretted in its choked path, and spread slowly in cold pools from cliff to cliff.
'It will be drier above,' said Gimli. 'Come, Legolas, let us see how things go on the Pony!'
He climbed up and found Legolas beside Aragorn and Eowyn. The elf was whetting his Pretty Sword. There was for a while a lull in the assault, since the attempt to break in through the culvert had been foiled.
'Eight!' said Gimli.
'Good!' said Legolas. 'But my count is now Forty Two. It has been Spanner-work up here.'
Play yourself here because it's more fun than it should be.
So yeah. I will go now.
