Political musings and other such nonsense.
Mar. 9th, 2004 12:09 pmOdd e-mail message of the day from my politics teacher (her capitalisation, not mine)
'GREATER LOVE HAS NO STUDENT THAN TO LAY DOWN THEIR LUNCH HOUR FOR THEIR COURSE.'
Erm... okay?
Actually, I've only ever been to one politics trip, and that was when I verbally bitchslapped various snobby people whilst in Parliament. Which was fun. I missed going to do the same to Andy Birnham because I was, y'know, in Parliament, and I missed Pickthall last week since I went home. Shame, really; Pickthall is a mate of the family through my grandad's connections to the Labour party.
But I am indeed laying down my lunch hour to go to a debate on - wait for it - alternative voting systems. *facepalm* I decided to scarper to London for Media that week, and as such I know nothing about a huge and complex topic that involves scary-ass maths. Besides, AMS and STV sound sexually transmitted, which perhaps the German and Irish systtems are, I have no idea, I wasn't actually there. So, in a burst of motivation, I am giving up my lunch hour and my free afternoon to learn about them.
Whoopdidoo. I want to go home and go to the chippie, as I'm having cravings for a chip butty. But no. I am going to stay in college. And read fanfic all afternoon. Okay, so it's not all that bad.
Yes; the waterpipes are fixed. Maybe I should have said that at the beginning, and you'll be all confused now. Such is life and the nature of my livejournal, unfortunately.
I'm really, really hungry now. Except my throat is strangely painful today. Oh dear...
